Interview with Exphonic
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't make things too complicated.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The most question asked by our customers is if we can actually manage to get a particular sound they're searching for, or if something might be too complex to accomplish. For the EXPHONIC team, nothing is impossible to achieve.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: The only advice we could give to our customers would be to focus just on his creative path and experimentation, while leaving the technical "grunt work" to us. After seeing a lot of different music personalities, we've came to conclusion that, for an artist, the most essential part of his work is to feel free to create his music and pursue his own style regardless of the technical-practical issues he might come across with.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: EXPHONIC was founded in 2023, but his members has been active in the music industry for a whole decade, accomplishing a large amount of notoriety in the game.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: We have experienced work processes for different genres and styles of music. We are mostly reached from artists trying to get their spot in the trap/hip-hop music scene. Secondly, we got a lot of people recently asking us to work on pop-song projects, with great results indeed. We're always open to try our best on the most niche genre can come to your mind.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Every mix engineer is different and add his own "secret sauce" to his works. We, as producers, bring all of our experience and advanced mixing techniques, together with a perfect knowledge of the most famous VSTs and plug-ins, just to make your song shine through the speakers.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First of all, we define the primary needs of our clients, to align with their expectations and goals. Then we start working, from scratches, to the track, taking care of every small detail from the very beginning. We're always open to modification requests in the making of the production from clients. Then we handle the artist the final master, or more final masters depending on his will to publish them on different platforms.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Apollo Twin Usb Duo, KRK G4 Rokit 8, Empirical Labs EI8 X Distressor, Eq Neve 8803. Mic: Neumann TLM103.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: We're inspired by a lot of artists, both for artistic and technical related reasons. Our major models are Max Martin and Jack Antonoff obviously for what they gave to the pop culture. We also base our electronic production on some major artists like Skrillex, Martin Garrix, and Diplo but we rely on some alternative-style electronic music like SOPHIE, Danny L Harle and many others
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: We're very often reached by artists who need their songs to be mixed and mastered properly. We give our best to make the most out of their tracks to make them quality-competitive on the digital market, giving a very important focus on making the artist feel confident about his work so he can let all of his creativity out.
