I trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and held an oboe position in Southbank Sinfonia from 2020 - 2022, alongside freelancing with orchestras in the UK and abroad. Recently, I have toured with Pop artists such as Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet).
My name is Laura and I'm and oboist and Cor Anglais player based in London. I freelance with various orchestras in the UK and abroad such as the London City Philharmonic and Jyvaskyla Sinfonia (Finland).
I love to play music in different styles and have enjoyed working on a number of tours with 80's Pop artists and taking part in the London Jazz festival with Guy Barker. I have also recorded for Indie Pop albums and regularly record music for commercial projects with the Guildhall Session Orchestra. As well as orchestral playing, I am an avid chamber musician and soloist and have appeared at a number of international festivals.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Most of my projects outside of the studio are classical orchestral projects, however I often get asked to record on pop or musical theatre tracks.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I play with a lot of energy and flare!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use and NT1-a Rode condenser mic and I record using ProTools and a Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Recording oboe parts when their track requires full orchestra.
