MYLES on SoundBetter

My name is Myles and I'm a music producer/recorder/mixer looking for individuals who want to take their music to the next level.

I'm best known for my work in the production duo Free n Losh, with credits producing and remixing for artists such as Mac Miller, Pretty Lights, Odesza and more. Together, we've had worldwide success with millions of plays across platforms such as SoundCloud and Spotify as well as reaching number one on Hype Machine multiple times. Between several years as an audio engineer at Epik Productions and working out of my own studio in Toronto, Canada, I have experience with multiple genres, focusing mainly on Hip-Hop, R&B and Singer/Songwriter. Through this time, I have worked with hundreds of artists and bands but specialize in developing solo artists looking to collaborate on songwriting and production.

I worked with Myles on a few songs last summer. My experience with him was great. What a relaxed and amazing environment! Myles is beyond just a "technical producer/engineer". He also collaborated with me to help me bring out my sound, bringing my music to levels I never expected to get to. An incredible guide and mentor.

Myles is the best producer in the city. He's talented, professionally reliable and extremely easy to work with. His knowledge of music carries a confidence that tends to bleed over into the work of those he works with, making your final product that much better. Work with Myles, you will not be disappointed.

Interview with MYLES

  1. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  2. A: I started drumming when I was 7 and got into production at 19. In the past 6 years I have worked with hundreds of artists and have been placed in every situation imaginable. With Free n Losh, we managed to reach tons of success with our own music that really gave me the confidence to keep going.

  3. Q: How would you describe your style?

  4. A: Unique and Soulful

  5. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  6. A: I have a simple set up that is geared towards vocals and instrumental overdubs. I mainly use my space for simple tracking and mixing/mastering. I operate on a supped up 15" Mac Book Pro because I like to be portable and use Focal CMS 65s and Yamaha NS-10s.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Ask questions. Make sure you are finding the person that caters best to your needs.

  10. A: Laptop, headphones, external hard drive, Apollo Twin, Neumann U87

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: Chance The Rapper. He is always pushing boundaries and is not afraid to be himself. The soul really shines through his music.

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Always experiment by doing things you would otherwise never do and don't be afraid of something that sounds different.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: Singer/Songwriter, Hip Hop, Electronic, Soul, Funk, R&B

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  22. A: This is unique to every project. I like to cater to the client and do whatever is necessary.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: My musical inspiration is extremely broad. I would say from The Beatles and Pink Floyd to DJ Premier and 9th Wonder. I am inspired by anything that has soul and isn't afraid to break barriers.

  26. A: My most common inquiry is production and mixing for all my clients.
