Kegan Krogh on SoundBetter

Kegan Krogh has been making records for the better half of two decades - whether that’s been engineering at Maze Studios in Atlanta, tracking guitars and bass in his home studio, or mixing your next project.

He found his way to Maze in 2017 and in that time has worked with such producers and engineers as Ben Allen, Drew Vandenberg, Ben Etter, Daniel Gleason, and TJ Elias, recording bands like Cut Copy, Childhood, Wild Moccasins, Flamingods, and more. When he’s not recording you can find him touring North America with his band, worlds greatest dad, playing guitars, synth, and lap steel.
Growing up in the DIY punk scene, Kegan focuses on getting the job done, no matter the set up or tools on hand. He believes recording a song becomes greater than the sum of its parts - that capturing the vibe and feeling of the session is just as important as making sure that last guitar take was in tune. “For the artist or band tracking, recording should be fun,” he says. “As an engineer, I should have everything in place so the artist can solely focus on translating their feelings to tape, and let their emotions shine through.”
