Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Official remix of Ariana Grande - Dangerous Woman. It really kick started it all for me. Was played copious times on UK Radio.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A lot!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: No
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital with analog emulations. So much more flexible and responsive in todays fast paced world.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That it will sound great every time.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The feeling you get when clients are thrilled at the reaction of their songs either in clubs, festivals, radio or online.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How long will it take? Some songs only take a couple of hours to mix right however many require much more time.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That 'anyone with a computer' can do it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is the main focus of their track and what their reference track/s have been for their song. Also that stems are clearly labelled and in the correct file format as well as their preferred deadline date should they have one.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't be afraid to ask for advice from an expert.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: MacBook Pro, External Hard Drive, Headphones, Charger and an electrical generator because how else will you power this all?
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: 7 years
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Fast and efficient.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Alesso. Always been a huge fan of his melodies and vocals.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Loud competitive mixes begin from the beginning of the production process. Not at the end.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Dance music. Particularly house, Pop and Drum and Bass.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Achieving an ultra loud and powerful track while retaining as much dynamic content as possible.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Powerful sub and bass levels with clear sharp defined drums and crisp modern highs.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Import stems and get a feel for the track, Begin to examine drums and bass levels and interaction then start processing to bring up to full potential. Once drums and bass levels are set, Polish vocal levels and balance with the rest of the track allowing me to focus on the final mix level.

A: Apple XDR, Full Spec M1 MAC Mini, Full Spec M1 MacBook Pro, UAD Apollo Twin X soundcard, Mackie HR824mk2 monitors. NI Komplete Kontrol 61 keyboard.
