Punchy, catchy pop with a nonbinary touch.
The Canvas Collective is a pop band based out of New York. The band consists of Mandy Kessler (Vocals/Guitar) and Kris Wong (Guitar/Bass/Synth), who met when they were studying at the Berklee College of Music. After being heavily involved in the Boston music scene, the band recorded their EP “Silence Wants Me but I Don’t Wanna Be Quiet” during their senior year of college. The band is proud to write and release songs that are personal to them, with lyrical subjects that include personal issues and LGBT themes. After the covid-19 pandemic, the band decided to change their alternative rock sound to a modern pop vibe, as heard in their 2021 single, “Say Something”. The follow up release was “Sweet Sensation”, released in October 2022, and now they are currently working on a pop album.
Mandy Kessler (they/them) is a 25 year old songwriter and beat-maker from Brooklyn, New York who is currently fronting the band The Canvas Collective. They have been singing and playing piano for over a decade, and writing lyrics, melodies, bass parts, drum grooves and mixing for 5 years. They write and produce songs with Kris Wong, guitarist, synth player, bass player and beat writer of their band. Kris has been playing guitar, writing, and performing for over 14 years.
