Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm not really experience working with other people. I mostly produced my own music. I have done some jobs for other people and thy liked what I did to their music. Just give me a try :-)
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: My own music.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love to create music and to make it sound good.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What they want me to do and what their goals are. I also try to find out about their favorite artists and how they would like to sound like.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: An acoustic guitar.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I wanted my music to sound great and therefore I went to audio school and learned how to record, mix and master music. I started recording myself in 2005. I finished audio school in 2017.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Foo Fighters, because Dave Growl is a role model for me.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock based music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I work till it sounds like it should and I always do my best. I also like to learn new skill all the time.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I think that each person has a slightly different perception of sounds and therefore mixes from different people will all sounds differently somehow. You have to decide if you like the same idea as I do.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: You can check out my website or email me for further information. www.mw-recording.de
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: As a child of the 90s I grew up with bands like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Bush and so on. During the years the list of my favorite bands increased. That means I'm not stuck in a specific type of music. I really like the sound of Butch Vig and Steve Albini.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Typically I record, mix and master music. Mostly I do this with natural sources such like drums, guitars, pianos and vocals.
