Marlon Grant, Montreal-based music producer, song writer engineer, remixer and sound designer with over 40 years in the industry. Raised in a family where music was tradition..
After immigrating to Canada, he discovered DJ’ing as a teen and rose to prominence in Montreal and Toronto under the name DJ Matrix, eventually working internationally in New York City and Birmingham, England. He has worked with record labels including Dance Floor, Big Beat, Network, and Champion, and collaborated with artists such as Lisa Stansfield, Jomanda, Corina, Pandella, Loose Ends, Inner City, KWS (“Please Don’t Go”), Wu-Tang Clan, and more.

Grant later returned to Montreal, where he expanded into theater and film. As Musical Director of the award-winning production Denmark & Elsinore, he collaborated with his brother and sister to reimagine Shakespeare’s Hamlet through music, a production that earned critical acclaim and led to the trio’s induction into the Canadian Shakespearean Hall of Fame. He went on to create music for the Montreal Black Theatre Workshop, compose scores for Canadian independent films (Brilliant, Samhain), and eventually founded his own company, House of Grant.

Today, Grant continues to produce, compose, and innovate — always evolving
