Multiinstrumentalist with a hybrid touch on recording. If you love vintage tone as much as I do then let's work on your music together and give it the right groove.

Hi, I am Peter from Austria, a land full of mountains and lakes. I am a songwriter, recording artist and multi-instrumentalist. I love the vintage tone of 70s productions, that still influence the sound of modern indie folk/rock/pop as well as my own workflow when it comes to recording. I sing and play drums, guitar, bass and synthesizer mainly for my own project. All of my displayed music is written, performed, recorded and mixed by me and has already managed to land in Spotify playlists like Fresh Finds, All New Indie, Modern Psychedelia.

I am looking forward to use my skills and experience to help you and your music find the right vibe, wether that be in tracking instruments for a song or mixing a whole album.

I have a Universal Audio Apollo for single or double mic recordings and an additional 16-channel Focusrite setup for tracking drums or a whole band. I have a selection of trusty dynamic, condenser, tube and ribbon mics that I like to use in combination with analog preamps and compressors. I also like using my collection of guitar pedals to create unique effects on prerecorded tracks.

Hit me with your music, I am looking forward :)

Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Another great drum performance from Peter. He played what was right for the track and the fills were super tasteful. The drums are very well recorded too.

Peter put down a really great drum track, the performance brought life to the song and the drum sound slotted perfectly into the mix. I always love it when a musician brings there own vibe to a piece and exceeds all expectations.

Peter laid down some drums on a track for me. The communication was clear and the entire process was efficient. I gotta say = Peter has serious style. If you're looking to add some artistry and a human element to your songs, look no further. Also, check out "Peter the Human Boy" on Spotify. I checked it out just to get a taste of his work, it's been in my rotation ever since!

Interview with Peter B. Mathis

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: A combination of both because each world has its benefits

  3. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  4. A: Listening instead of looking as much as possible

  5. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  6. A: Indie Pop/Rock/Folk

  7. Q: What's your typical work process?

  8. A: I listen to what I get and try to picture the ideas that come from a client. Then I figure out what I can bring into the production to make it better.

  9. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  10. A: I've built my own small studio and there is just enough room for my drumkit, guitars, amps, a little rack with analog gear, a couple of synthesizers and a mixing desk. The room sound is pretty dry so I can go to a lot of different sonic places from there.

  11. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  12. A: Unkown Mortal Orchestra, Kevin Parker, Weyes Blood, Mac Demarco, Parcels

  13. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  14. A: Recording instruments
