Production, Mixing, Recording

Rush Hr. on SoundBetter

We are a production duo based out of LA. We have produced for major artists such as Demi Lovato, Madison Beer, and Justine Skye.

When we write a song, we start from scratch with the artist and we tailor the writing to that person. Because we're a duo, we cover all the bases from writing, production, recording, and even mixing and mastering if required. By the end of every session, you will have a fully written song.

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

Interview with Rush Hr.

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: A huge project with a major artist that will be revealed soon as soon as it's released!!!

  3. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  4. A: John Ho and Jimmy Burney.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Both! There are some things with analog that you just can't emulate in digital, but the convenience and power of digital is priceless.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: We will provide you with our honest opinions and recommendations about a song, but in the end we are working FOR you and it is up to you if you choose to trust us or not. In any case, we will make sure that the best possible song gets completed and on time.

  9. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  10. A: We get to hang out with the most talented, funny, and creative people in the world, connect with them on a deeply personal level, and then write a song about what we're feeling.

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: Can you make a song just like ____? Sure, but that artist did that already, and you're not that artist, so why not try something different?

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: That us producers have all the answers. Not at all. We can only work with what's in front of us. If the artist has no idea who they are or what they want, then there's only so much we can do.

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: How are you feeling today?

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Be open to give and receive feedback during a session. We're all here to make sure the best possible song gets written, not to hurt anyone's ego.

  19. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  20. A: Macbook Pro, Apollo Twin, External drive, portable MIDI keyboard, headphones

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: We have a control room with a separate vocal booth. We run everything off a brand new 2017 Macbook Pro using Logic Pro X and every plugin imaginable. Our interface is the UAD Apollo 8 and our mic of choice is the Slate Digital VMS. Why these? Because they can emulate virtually all the best preamps and mics available. Since every voice is different, you can be sure that we'll have the right sound for you!

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: Timbaland, Pharrell, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: We write and produce full songs. We can also provide mixing and mastering if necessary.

  27. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  28. A: We've been doing this for over 5 years.

  29. Q: How would you describe your style?

  30. A: Simple production, strong concepts and lyrics, soulful chords.

  31. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  32. A: Rihanna because she has that confidence that very few other artists have.

  33. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  34. A: Organization.

  35. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  36. A: Pop, R&B, Hip Hop.

  37. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  38. A: Listening and making the artist/performer feel comfortable.

  39. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  40. A: We bring our sense of taste.

  41. Q: What's your typical work process?

  42. A: We sit down with the artist we're working with, and we craft a song from scratch based on what that person is feeling that day. By the end of the session, the song is practically done.
