Songwriter, Vocalist, Producer

isle on SoundBetter

Dark indie pop music is my specialty! 11+ years songwriting experience for both personal and hired projects. My writing inspiration comes from introspective emotions and awareness of the natural world. I have a full female vocal range (soprano to alto). Ableton is my DAW of choice <3 Prices are very negotiable.

SINGER
11+ years experience though classical training, I'm comfortable singing Soprano to Alto. With a wide vocal range I can convey the emotions needed for lyrical expression. My vocals are to the like of Kailee Morgue, Softcult, and Phem.
Well versed in auto-tuning with Antares, I can edit my vocals to ensure perfectly on-key sound when needed.

SONGWRITER
Rapidly consuming fantasy books and sci-fi movies since early childhood, my writing is heavily inspired by otherworldly lore, a deep-rooted love for nature, and a fascination for the existentialism of human emotion and existence.

BEAT-MAKER/PRODUCER
The beats I create consist of melancholic minor-key guitar, layered with dreamy synth-chords, ethereal bell-toned melodies and sweetly snappy snares that produce a soundscape perfect for some introspective 'emo' lyrics.
For the more hard-hitting stuff, a dark basement is my muse. Big kicks, rapid hi-hats, and creepy arpeggiators create excellent noise for dancing under a bridge at 2AM.

I accredit my musical education to 8 years of choir from elementary to high school, and completing the Ableton Production Program at RRFC in Hollywood, California.

I am well equipped to work remotely, and open to meeting in-person for sessions in Los Angeles.

Interview with isle

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: my song "i'll be home soon!". I made it at my mother's house in the woods during a time of self-isolation. I had so much fun producing everything and writing the lyrics. It's not perfect but it making it was a very happy and content time I had with myself.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: I can promise my clients that everything they request from me will be provided on time, and that are work flow will be a creative and easy-going experience!

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: Everything I do in music I do because I love it. Singing, Songwriting, and Producing music is a part of who I am. It brings me incredible joy and fulfillment.

  7. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  8. A: I started choir in 7th grade until the end of high school where my group received over 20 high ranking awards in competitions across the USA. When I was 14 I got Logic Pro X on my computer and started making beats in my room. During the pandemic I decided to seriously pursue music by getting an eduction in RRFC's Ableton Music Production Program where I studied at XLNT Studios in Hollywood, California.

  9. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  10. A: Rezz. I rediscovered my love for dubstep through her songs Sacrificial and Let Me In.

  11. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  12. A: LAYER YOUR HI-HATS AND PUT THEM ON DIFFERENT NOTES don't have them on the same note make them go up and down all spunky fruity.

  13. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  14. A: Dark indie pop sad soundcloud bedroom waif gremlin girl 2014 tumblr shut in sci fi fanfiction au sitting on the floor of barnes and noble for hours skipping therapy to talk to the walls running around the backrooms with no socks on crying in a hurts so good way please don't make it stop i need to wallow please i just want to live in a shack in the woods.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: It's personally hard to focus on one, but I'm often praised for my lyrics and voice.

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: Extreme creative writing. When it comes to songwriting my lyrics portray real-life emotion and personal stories but are alluded to through the use of strange and poetic references to (usually, and honestly,) deep internet lore.

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: For producing I'll find a sad little guitar loop on Splice, then begin on the drum loop, adding synth chords and sparkly percussion as I progress. Once the beat is complete I start lyrics. I'll imagine the beat as a background track in my head for some supernatural scene and write the lyrics around what's happening. I always draw inspiration for lyrics from my admiration for nature, and love for sci-fi books and movies.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: My home studio consists of my Scarlett interface, Mic, and headphones hooked up to my MacBook Pro with Ableton at the ready. I have a soundproofing to provide quality recording with a pop filter and isolation chamber around my mic stand.

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: I grew up in my dad's studio where he made rock and house music on Logic so I began learning from a very young age. As my personal music taste developed I found heavy inspiration in artists such as Grimes, Cherry Glazerr, and CouCou Chloe.

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: I'm predominantly the songwriter and singer on finished beats when working remotely, when I'm at an in-person session I enjoy creating in all aspects of the song by helping with the beat production and mixing as well.
