  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Pink concerts - live audio engineer. Pavarotti - mix engineer. Taio Cruz - music production. Sugababes - recording engineer.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: Kate Bush remixes, Halo Dust remixes - stadium and festival projects, recording Italian folk music, pre-prodtion meetings with Athena.

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Hybrid - some of the important elements in engineering - saturation and compression remain superior in the analogue domain.

  7. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  8. A: To always give the project priority and fulfil their vision

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: That I just clean things up and make it sit nice. Which I can do of course - but I have the patience to work through all my techniques and gear to find the sweet spot for your track - and maximise that vision. I emotionally invest in every project as if it was my own - so we get maximum 'anima' vibe and magic from the project

  17. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  18. A: Feel at home here - free to express exactly how you want to progress with your project. If I am not the right person for the job I will always think of your project first and advise you likewise.

  20. A: Elektron boxes, MacBook Pro, Neve, ATC speakers, Mics

  22. A: 30 years - started in classical and opera and moved through pop and rock to urban and finally into the underworld of electronica

  24. A: Formless and natural but always magnetic

  28. A: Ignore the tips

  32. A: Creative engineering and production

  33. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  34. A: Adhering to the original vision. Intuition and empathy - will always consider the best step forward for the project - down to the finest detail. Full spectrum mix but more importantly conveying the emotion through engineering - saturation and excitement - depth and width.

  35. Q: What's your typical work process?

  36. A: Maximum 2 week turnaround for mixes depending on current workload. Pre production meetings remotely and in person. Mix checks for direction and delivery.

  37. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  38. A: Custom built mix room - fibreglass shell in a tobacco barn - tuned and treated. Neumann KH0310 plus subs, fed by Apogee Symphony Pro converters, SSL fusion and Bus+/ Api Tubetech on the mix bus. Various outboard, analogue synths and plugins.Studio expansion in 2023 to include drum, instrumental and vocal live rooms/ booth.
