Ian DeHaas

Remote Folk and Indie Mixing

Ian DeHaas on SoundBetter

From guitar and vocals to pitch corrections and mastering, I've done a little bit of everything. I engineered, mixed, and mastered Meat Raffle's debut album "Unintended Consequences" during the height of the pandemic when remote work was vital. I'm familiar with every bit of the process and I'm excited to help other artists achieve their vision.

Since the time I picked up my first (awful) acoustic guitar when I was 13, music has been a passion. After learning guitar and bass, I developed my vocals, and learned how to record myself in my room on an ancient Windows PC that had Audacity installed. Learning every piece of the process has been a huge part of my musical journey. Picking up Ableton Live, learning which microphones work on a voice and guitar, arranging tracks to give the best listening experience, all of this has just fed the passion. Not everyone is passionate about gear, tweaking vocal pitches, and adjusting EQ for hours. Some people just want their music to be heard. So I'm excited to contribute to the process in these more technical areas so artists can just focus on what they do best: make art.
