Compelling poetic lyrics that play with language. Do you want catchphrases or "ooh babys"? That's not me.
I've been a lyricist for years, always in search of a composer. With GarageBand I have been creating my own musical settings for my words. I have also written lyrics for several self-produced musicals (Iphigenia, Peer Gynt, and Dog Assassin.
For a joke, I will often come up with new lyrics for a well-known song on the spot, so I have a talent for molding the lyrics to a specific melody and rhythm. I do tend to write lyrics that are more poetic and imagistic, and also do story-songs well.
You can hear samples of my previous songs on my youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/stephenschrum) and also sample my poetry and lyrics at smashwords (https://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/musofyr).

He truly loves the art of word craft and has been a significant influence on how I approach my own music and writing.
Dr. Schrum is also prolific, creating everything from graphic novels to his thought provoking podcast, Audio Chimera, which further highlights his flexibility and discipline as a writer.
Interview with Stephen Schrum/MUSOFYR
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: In the past I have supplied composers with complete lyrics, and edit as needed. I have also taken melody lines and ideas, and composed lyrics.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Arjen Lucassen of Ayreon (and other projects) is a major inspiration; he writes brilliantly and evocatively. For dramatic writing, Stephen Sondheim, also for economy of phrasing that includes the necessary imagery.
