Hey! I’m Adam Dawson. A pro session drummer, percussionist & studio owner. I would love to collaborate with you on your next project by laying down an awesome drum track. I’ve previously recorded for BC Camplight on 4 records, Hannah Ashcroft, Fabrizio Cammarata, Coruja Jones and many many more.

I'm a pro session drummer and percussionist and work remotely from my studio based here in Manchester, UK.
A city that, thanks to its vibrant scene and strong heritage, fuelled a passion for music and inspired my development as a musician.

Starting out playing in local indie, rock and punk bands, I later studied music at university to further my playing vocabulary and technique with a keen focus on jazz music, performance, latin percussion and production. Since then, I've continued to apply myself to a large variety of projects, shaping me into a versatile player, highly regarded across multiple genres both live and in the studio.

Currently the drummer for the critically acclaimed songwriter BC Camplight (Bella Union Records), recording drums and percussion on the previous four albums and performing live since 2015 via UK/European tours and major festivals. The gig is a perfect mix of all the elements. I play light on some tunes and then fully rock out on others. There are moments of improvisation/soloing, I trigger lots of samples and loops, play slower songs and then play lightning fast. It's great fun and very varied.

Appearance highlights include Glastonbury, Green Man, BBC 6 Music Festival, Iceland Airwaves, End Of The Road, The Roundhouse, Paradiso, Albert Hall, live radio sessions and tour supports with White Denim and brit-pop favourites Suede.

I’ve known Adam for many years and he has always been my go-to drummer. He has extensive knowledge of drums and percussion and it really shows in the recordings we’ve done together. He knows how to get the right sound that the song requires from both the instrument and mics, which has come from years of study of drum kit and working in a studio environment. He’s a seasoned pro both in the studio and on the stage and I’m very lucky to have worked with him over the past 15 years or so.

Beside his impeccable drumming skills, Adam understands his role in any project he gets involved with. The great thing about Adam is that he’s not only a technically flawless drummer. He’s also got a rare capacity to relate with the deepest facets of your songs and create a rhythm contribution accordingly. It’s like - he can turn your lyrics into a drum part, adding joy or sadness to your music, as well as gravity or lightness, respectful of the song’s needs and showing unique empathy. For a singer-songwriter, this is pure gold.
