Interview with Yaae

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: Mine, cause I get to do anything I want, and that is something really special. You guys should definitely give it a go.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: My artistic project and many other projects that seek me for productions. You can check them out in the following Instagram: @nifty.mx My social is: @holasoyyaae

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: that I don't know lol

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Both, it's the same thing honestly. If you know how to work with your gear, it doesn't really matter what you choose. Just don't kill your CPU.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: I'll make what you want and even better.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: That's it's just the best job ever

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: My production knowledge, such as if it's going in a good direction, talking about vocal performance, sounds chosen, and adornments.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: idk lol

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: What do you want to feel when you hear your song. Where do you imagine it to be (in a sleep over, in a sexy scene, in a crying scene) as if it was a movie. And what are your references for this song (top 3 references)

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Stick to one idea, usually many of us we'd like to put everything we are inspired of into one track, but usually it doesn't work like that. There's a reason why people make albums or EP's and that's when the full Inso experience comes in.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Headphones (m50x), fender guitar, SSL2+, Laptop with lots of plugins.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I've been doing this for over 6/7 years now. I started on my house and then went to different studios to learn a lot of stuff. Now I'm starting my own business based on the music I want to make.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Melancholic

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: Justin Bieber. He's an excellent singer and has a production sense that many people don't.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Stop and listen. Listening is the most important part of production. If you don't understand what's going on, take elements off and start adding stuff from scratch of what you have.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: R&B, Urban and Indie, Pop

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: I would say it's the production. I know what should be and what it shouldn't be there. And that plays a HUGE part on what makes a hit.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Sounds that nobody else can do. I'm an expert on melancholic and trippy music. I'm the best out there to reach out to people's feelings with my music.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I usually ask for references so I can get to know the artist vision and start from there, that's the best way to get to the artist destination

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I use HS8 and M50x for ear monitoring, I record with my SSL2+ and Fender Guitars and Squire bass, usually use a RODE NT1-A for voices and Acoustic Guitars. Everything else, is digital software that with a bit of tuning, it sounds just on point.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Justin Bieber, Dominic Fyke and Kid Laroi

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
