A: Clean, detailed, and intentional. I prioritize vocal clarity, controlled low end, depth, and dynamics while preserving the character that makes a record distinctive. I prefer mixes that feel immersive and polished without sounding overly processed.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

A: Detailed, dynamic, and immersive. I focus on strong vocals, intentional space, controlled low end, and preserving the character of the artist rather than forcing every record into the same sound.

Q: What are you working on at the moment?

A: I’m currently working on independent artist projects alongside my own production and sync catalog, while continuing to expand my engineering work across recording, mixing, live sound, and immersive audio.

Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

A: I’m still getting to know the SoundBetter community, so I don’t have someone I can personally recommend yet. I look forward to building relationships with other professionals whose work I can confidently recommend to my clients.

Q: Analog or digital and why?

A: Both. Digital gives me speed, precision, recall, and flexibility, while analog can bring character and a different approach to decision-making. I care more about choosing the right tool for the record than committing to one format.

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

A: I’ll treat your record with the same attention and intention I would give my own. I’ll communicate clearly, respect your vision, and be transparent about what the record needs to reach the best result possible.

Q: What do you like most about your job?

A: Turning an idea into something people can actually experience. I enjoy the point where technical decisions become creative ones and the record starts communicating the emotion and intent the artist originally had in mind.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

A: “Can you make it sound professional?” My answer is yes, but the best results start with a strong recording. I can improve balance, clarity, dynamics, depth, and overall presentation, but I’m also upfront about what can and can’t realistically be fixed in the mix.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: That mixing is just making everything sound better individually. A good mix is about making decisions that serve the song as a whole, which sometimes means leaving something imperfect or making an element less prominent so the record works.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: My first question is whether they’ve worked with an engineer or had a record professionally mixed before. From there, I ask about their goals, references, expectations, timeline, and what they want to improve about the current record.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Look for someone who understands the direction of your record, not just the technical side of mixing. Clear references, expectations, and communication upfront make the process much smoother and help ensure the final mix supports your vision rather than changing it.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: MacBook Pro, Pro Tools, a great pair of headphones, a versatile condenser mic, and a reliable audio interface. Give me a solid monitoring and recording chain and I can build the rest around the music.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I’ve worked professionally in audio since 2021, with experience spanning music production, composition, recording, engineering, and A&R, including time as a lead engineer. My technical background is continuing to expand through intensive professional training in recording, mixing, live sound, consoles, signal flow, audio networking, and production across multiple genres and environments. My experience with audio began well before my professional career, giving me a long-standing foundation in recording, production, and DJing.

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I’d love to work with CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso. Their music blends hip-hop, pop, electronic, funk, rock, and experimental production without feeling restricted by genre. I’m drawn to artists who take creative risks while still making records that feel intentional and accessible, and that’s the kind of work I want to contribute to.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Make decisions in context. A sound that seems imperfect in solo can be exactly what the song needs in the full mix. Focus on how each element supports the record rather than making every track sound impressive on its own.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: My client work is primarily hip-hop and rap, with a strong focus on vocal production. I also bring that experience to alternative pop, indie, pop-rock, electronic, and heavier alternative records.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My strongest skill is understanding the intent behind a record and making technical decisions that support it. I focus on preserving the artist’s identity while improving clarity, impact, balance, and translation across different playback systems.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring a balance of musical and technical perspective. I look beyond individual tracks and focus on what the song is trying to communicate, then use arrangement, editing, dynamics, tone, space, and automation to make that intent translate clearly to the listener.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I start by understanding the artist’s references, goals, and priorities for the record. From there, I organize and evaluate the session, address any technical issues, build the mix around the song’s key elements, and refine through detailed automation and translation checks before delivering the final files.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I work primarily in Pro Tools, Logic Pro, and Ableton Live Suite, with access to professional consoles, monitoring systems, microphones, outboard gear, and industry-standard audio equipment. I also use tools such as SoundID Reference for monitoring accuracy and mix translation, allowing me to build a workflow around the needs of each project.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I’m inspired by producers and artists who build distinctive sonic worlds, including M83, The Japanese House, Charli XCX, Paramore, and Bring Me The Horizon. I especially appreciate production that balances atmosphere, emotion, texture, and impact without losing the identity of the artist.

A: I primarily mix and master records for independent artists, focusing on clear vocals, strong low end, and mixes that translate across headphones, speakers, cars, and streaming platforms. I also provide production and arrangement support when a song needs additional development.
