Chris Jaxon on SoundBetter

Over 4 million streams as a producer and songwriter. Degree in music performance from USC. Perfect pitch. 20 years of experience.

Chris Jaxon has been surrounded by music for as long as he can remember. Born to a recording engineer/former musician and a former dancer, music was always being discussed in his household growing up. As soon as he got his first drum set in third grade, Chris knew that music was his calling. He has since learned guitar, piano, tuba, and several other instruments, but none of them have had as much impact on his life as the bass. Since he got his first bass in 8th grade, Chris was the only bass player in his middle school and one of a handful in high school. He was in very high demand, playing in bands and performing at school events. Rigorously improving his skill throughout high school, he was accepted into USC’s Popular Music Performance major and was more in demand than ever. By the end of his freshman year, Chris was involved in 11 musical projects with varying degrees of commitment. Eventually, he drastically cut down his projects; only keeping those that he felt he was a core member. Now, Chris is mostly working as a solo artist under the name Chris Jaxon, primarily writing pop and hip-hop songs. In addition, he is one-half of The Wyrdlings and Hitsiu. He also plays for cøzybøy, Tommi Aura, Baej Lambeaux, Lola Colette, Guillermo Marigliano, and Flogging Seagulls.

Chris is super talented! Professional, collaborative, and fun to work with. He has produced, ran the session, and played multiple instruments on a handful of my songs, and offers creative ideas quickly on the spot!

I hire Chris for pretty much every project I work on. He is an excellent bass player and producer. He can prep tracks for studio and live use quickly, and plays bass in a wide variety of styles, I often rely on him as a musical swiss army knife. He also has a great ear (perfect pitch) and selection of gear and is always able to get the sound I want. To date we've worked on 7 albums for various artists together, and I hope to work on many more with him in the future. He is also very good looking.

I worked on some original music with Chris during the global pandemic of 2020 and could not have had a better experience making music with him. He was professional, enthusiastic and supportive of my creative ideas, and so easy to work with. He responds quick to new ideas and is brilliant at working to a deadline. I thoroughly enjoyed writing music with Chris and as a songwriter, I felt in such good hands and feel happy to work with him again in the future. Highly recommend for co-writing and producing.

I first hired Chris as a touring bassist for an overseas performance in London. He is an intuitive musician that is able to learn material quickly and efficiently. He pays attention to the details of a song and recognizes nuances most people overlook. As a bassist, he plays with precise timing and has an inherent feel for dynamics that ensures the music being performed feels alive. On the business end, he always conducts himself professionally, has strong communication skills, and a natural initiative that cannot be taught. All around, Chris is one of the best musicians I've encountered.

Chris is a musical genius! He is able to hear what a song is lacking and is able to find the missing pieces and make everything come together. He's a brilliant instrumentalist and a great lyricist that has helped me on numerous of my own songs. I would recommend Chris to anyone who is looking to greatly enhance their musical works or vision!
