Hey! I'm Logan, I specialize in mixing alternative rock/pop/hip-hop. I've got multiple albums under my belt and love working with an artist to make sure they get a sound that reflects them in the truest way possible. I am the primary engineer at Checkpoint East Studios in Orleans Massachusetts and have worked with G. Love and multi-platinum songwriter Sam Hollander.

Interview with Logan Tichnor
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always ask for specific song as sonic reference so that I can deliver the best possible results.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Get the best sound you can at the source. Take the extra time to choose a microphone and get the perfect placement. It pays off big time.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I had the privilege to be the engineer for Sam Hollanders Audiobook: "21-Hit Wonder: Flopping My Way to the Top of the Charts" as well as cutting a few demos for BTS with him. Sam has written over 21 top-40 hit songs for the likes of Panic! at the Disco, Ringo Starr, One Direction, Katy Perry, and many others. I HIGHLY recommend to checking out his book for any and all aspiring songwriters.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. I LOVE how analog gear sounds. but the plugin recreations have gotten so good that it is infinitely more convenient for me to mix with high quality recallable plugins.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Quality and honestly. If I feel like someone else could get the sound that you're looking for better than me, I'll be clear about that. My main goal is for anyone who hires me to be 100% satisfied.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: There's nothing better than completing a song or an album and listening back to it.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Billie Joe Armstrong. I've always been a huge Green Day fan, so he's definitely at the top of my list.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When mixing a song, I'll usually take the raw stems and get a volume balance without applying any processing at all, and then listening to hear what needs compression, EQ, and reverb. I love getting a full natural sound, especially with a live band. and I've found the best way to do that is to listen to what the tracks sound like on their own, and build on that instead of trying to alter the pre-existing sounds.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Producing, mixing, engineering.
