  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: My album. We did everything ourselves from the producing, the recording and the mixing. We manage to get pick up by big company in Canada to play in their custom radios.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I work on my own projet. I stream and make video content on youtube + a song a month with my band MAUV.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: For real, any of the top ones probably do a good job.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: Analog all day. Simple word: Aliasing

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: You WILL be blown away by your own track.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: The feedback of artist when they hear the final results and they are happy with it.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: What is a Master? A master is the art of taking a seemingly finished song and bringing it to the next level.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That mastering is not really necessary. Oh my, this is such a lie ahah.

  18. A: Do you have any knowledge of mixing terms?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Make sure they will follow your direction and not the other way around!

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My laptop - all of airwindows plugins (for real, check them out) - a really good pair of headphones - a really good mic (Neumann U 87) - A great analog compression (Drawmer 1978)

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I started as a producer when I was 14. Around 2019 I started focusing more on mixing to boost my own music.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: Modern and creative. Large and clear.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: JID That guy is so good and creative with his flow. He also has an unique voice that should be really interesting to mix!

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: ALWAYS eq your reverb!!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: Hip-hop / Pop / EDM / Live / Folk

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Vocals!!! My vocals are always really well balanced and mixed well. I'm also really good at programming reverbs so that they fit perfectly in the mix.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: Creativity, clarity, and a punchy low end.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I work in blitz of 45 minutes followed by 15 minutes of breaks. That way I ensure that I don't fatigue my ear and that I always take good mixing decision. Usually, the first mix will take me 4 hours. After 24h I give the mix another go for about 2 hours. 24h later I do the final ajustement. This way of working ensure me that I am always fresh when I work so that I ONLY make the mix better and not worst due to ear fatigue. 3 days turnaround is about my standard.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I have a great acoustically treated room with a decent pair of monitor speaker. I also use my trusty ATH-M50x a lot.

  42. A: Kenny Beat. Super creative.
