A sound engineer with over 15 billion total streams worldwide and ranked 71st globally on Muso.ai. Has worked with international artists such as Wiz Khalifa, 6ix9ine, Snoop Dogg, The Game, Gucci Mane, and Eko Fresh, as well as leading Turkish names like Ceza, Yalın, Sefo, and Lvbel C5.
As a sound engineer ranked 71st in the world on Muso.ai, with over 15 billion total streams across all the songs I’ve worked on, I’m Buğra Kunt from Istanbul, Turkey.
I graduated from the Sound Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University Conservatory, and I was born in 1988. I’ve been doing this job for about 20 years.
I'm not a typical sound engineer — I grew up among top arrangers, so I approach every project as a musician who values musicality and sound aesthetics as much as technical precision. If I feel the chosen sounds in a song don’t serve the overall texture, I’m never hesitant to share my opinion and suggest changes that could make the song truly shine.
I’ve contributed to the songs of almost every major artist in Turkey, as well as many international names including Wiz Khalifa, The Game, Snoop Dogg, 6ix9ine, Gucci Mane, Eko Fresh, Ceza, Sefo, Ben Fero, Ezhel, Yalın, Candan Erçetin, Rubato, Ece Seçkin, Bilal Sonses, Ahmed Rebai, Lvbel C5, Da Poet, Koray Avcı, and over 1000 other artists.
My door is always open to everyone — I take great joy, pride, and honor in working with artists from all styles.

Interview with Buğra Kunt
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Give me your work and let me dream. When I hand over my work to you, if I can make you sit back and smile when you first listen to it, then it's done.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I don't have such a dream. I've worked with everyone I've ever dreamed of. But since every work I do and every new artist's song is more than a dream for me, there's nothing better than that.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: My university thesis was to explore the difference between analog devices and digital devices. I don't want to discuss this here, but I have improved myself in this business by working in a studio without a single plugin for 6 years. In my graduation thesis at the university, I aimed to reveal the differences between analog and digital, both visually and emotionally. If one day you pass by the Library of Istanbul Technical University Maçka Campus, you can say that you want to read Buğra Kunt's graduation thesis. I've definitely proven that digital tools are better than analog devices in terms of RMS and volume, and there is no difference between them in terms of feel and frequency response. The whole point here is to use the digital tools we have without exaggeration. Because what we can do in analog is limited. But there is no limit to what we can do digitally. That's why we kill the volume of the sound when we don't act like we're limited when doing anything digital. So this is what I always say, learn to use analog and always apply it in digital! And there is no limit to our ability to revise digitally. However, what I said is not valid for recording sessions.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I have no promise. All my promises are my songs that I made before.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Imagining while listening to the arrangement. To do what I dream of.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: how long does the song take? Hahaha I always say this. As someone who makes an average of 30 different songs a month, I put your song in order and say that I'll probably start your song today. If there is any disruption, I will definitely notify you in advance.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: listening on the phone... go listen in the car, listen with headphones, but you can't listen to the song on the phone speaker and you can't give it a revision.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: If he already chose me, he knows what I've done. However, after listening to the arrangement, I would definitely ask him if we should make this song softer or more aggressive. I choose my mixing method accordingly.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Do you wanna smile with me ? : ) I'm a hardworker!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: one thing is enough... my EARS! : )
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I'm 34 years old and i started to play piano when i was 3 years old... But i started to pay attention recording and mixing when i was around 11-12 years old. For 10 years i work as proffesional..
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Never watch your screen. Never watch your plugins analyzers! JUST LISTEN ! It's so important ! learn how analogs behaves and use it on digitals! because you never have an screen when u work in analog.!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Hiphop, Trap, Rap, Drill, Pop, Soft Rock and Instrumentals.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I absolutely love the clean sounds!!! Complex and humming sounds where everything is intertwined are not for me.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Any style of music suits me. When I first started this business, I worked in a rock studio. Afterwards, I developed myself in a more oriental studio and then I had the opportunity to train myself in the studios where the most listened pop singers in my country. Since I am originally a hip-hop lover, that's why my main branch is hip-hop music genre.
