Pro Tools/Ableton certified mixing and mastering engineer; specialized in EDM genres particularly house & techno genres. My personal works are ranging from hard techno, industrial, to horror scores. Through my mixing and mastering process I focus on gaining the maximum amount of potential volume while retaining ultimate value in sound quality.
As I’ve developed my mixing and mastering skills through years of personal and formal education I hope I’m able to share my abilities with forthcoming artists to let their sound properly shine. As a producer and DJ I know it can be tedious and sometimes impossible to separate the artists aspects of music production from the technical side of mixing and mastering. I’d like to bridge the gap by offering my wide collection of industry standard plugins, knowledge, and ears as a service to the artists that struggle bridging that gap themselves. As well as offering my mixing and mastering services I will also provide each client with my personal feedback on their mix and how they can better prepare their mixes in the future. Alls I will ask is that the client provide me with an example of the goal sound they wish to achieve and I’ll do my best to provide them with a mix and master of similar quality. Clients will need to provide either stem tracks for the track they wish to be mixed or a bounced pre-master at a 32 bit depth rathe without dither, with a general range of 6db in headroom. This is so that I’m able to make the proper adjustments in audio levels using EQ & compression with enough range to boost the client’s track the the desired volume. Thank you for the trust, I look forward to working with you to get your projects to the industry standard, club ready quality you desire.

Interview with Tyler Brown
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Currently working on a 4 track EP master for an artist local to Los Angeles California.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will mix and/or master your tracks to industry standard quality and ensure that they are club ready.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I'll ask what their desired 'end-product' sound is. What their intentions are with the project. Depending whether or not the client requests feedback on their pre-master or on their mix-down , I will gladly provide it.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing, and mastering.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: The biggest misconception about mixing and mastering is that mastering will make any mix sound better. Mastering will not make every mix sound better. Unfortunately, there comes a time when we must admit to ourselves that the mix just isn't quite up to par and it must be reworked in order to reach the ultimate goal in pristine audio quality.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Ensure that your mix is at -6 db 32bitdepthrate with no dither if you want the best quality master possible.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Initially I was fully focused towards my personal music projects but as I've grown in the industry I've gathered a mass of useful knowledge which I believe I can use to help aspiring artists achieve their desired sound quality.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style can be summarized as quick, efficient and effective.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Jeff Mills. He's a pioneer to the genre and to this day is making some of the most complex and aesthetically appealing sounds in the realm of techno.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Ensure whatever you make is original and up to your highest standards if you want it to stand out.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I typically work on EDM genres particular to house and techno. However I have experience in fields such as bass music, ebm, industrial, hardcore, hip hop.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is dynamic EQ. I'm able to pull unwanted sounds from the mix to ensure a clean quality end result.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring simplicity to the technical side of the music making process and leave tracks sounding warm, robust and industry ready.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I run each track provided through my personalized chains of EQ, saturation, and compression to secure every sound in its proper frequency range while maintaining stereo acoustic versatility. I then level each track according to the example that the client provides. After passing tracks through my digital and physical mastering chains they are tested for decibel and acoustic ranges, ensuring the tracks are hitting the required marks requested by clients.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Renkus-Heinz tuned and certified.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Perc, Sara Landry, Jeff Mills.
