Adam Hicks is a rapper and songwriter who has written and performed on many soundtracks for Disney Channel and ABC, including Lemonade Mouth's "Determinate," "Breakthrough," "Livin' on a Highwire," and "Don't Stop the Revolution;" Disney's "In The Summertime," "Non Stop Summer," "We Burnin' Up;" and Shake It Up's "Dance for Life."
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, rapper, actor, and songwriter Adam Hicks grew up in hip-hop culture. As a child, Hicks listened to rappers such as Eminem, Biggie Smalls, Tupac, and Big L, who greatly influenced his technique and style. Hicks started battle-rapping on the radio at the age of ten and won a contest competing among rappers who were in their twenties. His disarming rap style and imposing talent for vivid lyrical phrases soon gained him notoriety in his hometown.
Hicks progressed into writing lyrical songs and started working with Disney and ABC as a writer for several tracks for many of their shows in his late teens. Hicks is most known for writing the raps in "Determinate," "Breakthrough," and "Livin' on a High Wire" from Disney's Lemonade Mouth.
In his early twenties, Hicks broke away from Disney and began making music that projected his talent as a seasoned rapper and songwriter. During a personal hiatus, Hicks wrote dozens of songs that will be featured on his upcoming album, with inspiration drawn from J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, 03 Greedo, and King Von.
