Interview with Heroicgenius

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I'm particularly proud of is my single "Humans." I handled the production and mixing myself, and despite it being a soft release with zero promotion, it managed to rack up over 4,000 streams. That was a pretty exciting surprise! On top of that, "Humans" got played on Amazing Radio in the UK and US for months, which was another achievement that really meant a lot to me.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: My remix project which consists of remixes of songs from James Blake, Faith Evans, Chloe Bailey, Flowdan, PJ Mortan and more!

  5. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  6. A: Digital due to the convenience, as well as many digital products being able emulate analog gear to a high standard.

  7. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  8. A: Laptop, headphones, MIDI Keyboard, backpack and a book about all things Music (even though that does not count as gear)

  9. Q: How would you describe your style?

  10. A: Eclectic.

  11. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  12. A: Kendrick Lamar, He's the G.O.A.T

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Export your new ideas as MP3 or WAV files and listen to them for a fresh perspective. This approach minimizes distractions and reveals details you might have missed before, such as an overly busy section.

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: My versatility.

  17. Q: What's your typical work process?

  18. A: I typically start with melody, but I would like to challenge myself to start with the drums. I also mix in the box.

  19. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  20. A: Timbaland, Stevie Wonder, JPEGMAFIA, Tom Misch, Disclosure, Hiatus Kaiyote, John Mayer, Halogenix
