Music creation is the reason I exist. So let me exist for you. Haha. No, but seriously.. I am a multi-genre rock singer/songwriter, looking for some amazing things to create. So, hit me up, for some cool vocal stuff. 🤘🙂

Hi! As the lead singer in a fast paced rock band, music is my everything. My life lives and breathes music creation; lyrics, melodies (vocal & instrumental), and mixing/engineering.

My music creation abilities excel mainly in funk and rock genres, but I am a very multi-genre type of musician/singer.

Being in multiple genres has made my voice very versatile. I can have a silky voice, but I also can have some gruff, it just depends on the song vibe. I can’t wait to add some of my creative sparks to your fire.

🙂

Megan did an incredible job singing an 90s style indie rock song that I had previously written and am trying to re-create anew; the song was challenging as it was written with a lot of changes and parts; she did a great job with powerful vocals. Highly recommend.

Megan is an amazing vocalist and person to work with through and through!

Clear and consistent communication, infectious positivity, creative sound-boarding, and on top of that: superb singing ability! I was pretty nervous to start my project at first, but Megan’s talents and personality really gave me the confidence to experiment with my song and take it to the next level. Absolutely would work with her again!

    Thank you so much :)))))))

Interview with Megan Strom

  1. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  3. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  4. A: Please be very specific about where you would like all vocals inside mix. Don’t squander creativity, but be specific on timestamps.

  5. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  6. A: I am currently writing the second EP for my band, The Madame Vega.

  7. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  8. A: I’m not sure.. 🫠

  9. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  10. A: Both! Incorporating a classic sound and blending it with some modern techniques?! C’mon! It doesn’t get any more interesting than that!

  11. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  12. A: Q: What makes you stand out above the rest? A: my vocal melodies 😏

  13. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  14. A: It’s easy…

  15. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  16. A: How does your mix make you feel? Happy, sad, envious, anxious, etc..? When trying to create vocal vibes & melodies for someone, it’s important to know which feelings they’re feeling, in order to get the best end result.

  17. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  18. A: I promise to give 1000% of my time and energy and focus.

  19. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  20. A: Creating, creating, and creating! :)

  21. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  22. A: I am most proud of the work I've done for The Madame Vega. Since I became the lead singer in the band, which was about 2 years ago, I've grown so much, as a musician, lyricist, and vocalist. That growth has expanded creative mind, which is EVERYTHING to me. So far, we've released three singles that I am very proud of. I wrote majority of the lyrics and vocal melodies, and also designed and created the digital artwork, associated. I probably would not be nearly as good as an artist, if I had not stepped into this role. So, this band has been the greatest accomplishment that I am most proud of.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: My acoustic guitar, my uke, my battery operated recorder, my cajon, and my tongue drum.

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: I’m currently the lead singer in a rock band, called The Madame Vega. Been in the group for almost 2 years, but I have been singing and making music for over 15 years.

  27. Q: How would you describe your style?

  28. A: Rockin’ Bluesy Funk Specialist

  29. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  30. A: Alice In Chains, because they have really intricate vocal melodies, with amazing harmonies.

  31. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  32. A: Never doubt your intuition. Allow your ears to feel what needs to come next.

  33. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  34. A: Rock, pop, funk

  35. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  36. A: Melody making

  37. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  38. A: The best vocal melodies!!! And also the best harmonies!!

  39. Q: What's your typical work process?

  40. A: Depends on the job. If I am writing lyrics and vocal melodies, I will listen to the mix on repeat at least 10 times, before figuring out what the best approach would be. Then, I will typically start writing the hook, then the verses, then bridge.

  41. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  42. A: I am running Logic Pro X, as my DAW, with a Presonus Studio 24c interface, and I record my vocals on my Rode NT2000 microphone. Rode doesn’t have the best reviews, overall, but the quality is very apparent with this mic, and I absolutely love it!

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: They call me Megan, the melody maker. I am very good at feeling where vocal melodies fit into a mix. My instrumental melodies are great too, but vocals are my specialty. I also am very good at writing lyrics, because I really enjoy playing with words.
