Songwriting, guitars, bass

I'm a platinum-selling songwriter and instrumentalist, whose writing and playing has featured on albums by Christine & the Queens, Loyle Carner and Metronomy as well as my own project Night Works. I'm signed to Sub Pop Publishing. I've written TV themes and songs for commercials, and I teach on the MA Songwriting program at ICMP London

I started out as a 'band guy' in my teens, and my ethos is still that you have to do a bit of everything to get the job done, whether that's songwriting, playing instruments (guitar and bass guitar are the big two but I also play keys, drums and cello), arranging, production, the lot.

This approach has taken me from writing songs for my teenage band in Devon, UK in the 90s, to touring clubs all over the world as bassist for Mercury-prize nominated electronic pop group Metronomy. I've played on sessions for artists as diverse as Tensnake and Coeur de Pirate, and co-written 'Tilted' with Christine & the Queens, as well working in the studio on her debut album 'Chaleur Humaine' and taking the tour to Glastonbury & Coachella. My project Night Works is my home for my own creative world, and my song 'I Tried So Hard' was recently sampled by Loyle Carner on his UK top 3 album 'Hugo'.

I can offer you crafted, poetic and imagery-filled lyrics; distinctive compositional input for your songs; guitar and bass parts in a range of styles to suit your project, as well as vocals and backing vocals. I a proficient cellist and keyboardist, and a creative producer who can help you achieve a quality demo recording.
