Interview with Rasmus Sandström

Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I am very passionate about the music i make and i want all of it to be the best it can be! So i will work to make sure EVERY detail is perfect until there is nothing more to improve. Mixing for me is more than just a way for me to make some extra money.. It is my biggest passion and interest, I work everyday to get more experience and to keep learning! So if you choose to work with me, We will both make the best music possible!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It can be scary investing your money into your music, and taking a chance on someone like me. Thats why I'm offering a full refund if you arent happy with the results. Thats how adamant i am about giving you the best service! Because i want to keep working with you!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Clarity and translation between sound systems, which is really important for a professionally sounding mix. Enhancing the emotion and the vision of the artist to help immerse the listener into the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: First I'll Import stems and arrange the project in advance, as to minimize ear fatigue. Then I'll create a rough mix, from there i decide on what to put on my mix bus. The rest of the process is done using the method called "top down mixing". I also mix through a stereo pair of tube pre-amps, so it gets that analogue depth and color. Later Mastering is done where i use various plugins to make your song sound big and full.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an acoustically treated, professional home studio. Designed for recording, mixing and mastering. I have 2 pairs of speakers: a pair of Barefoot Footprints 02s, and a pair of Auratone 5Cs. I also have a Few analogue compressors which i mainly use on vocals. I use motorized faders and Softube's Console 1 system to achieve an efficient, ears-first workflow that results in better sounding mixes. I work on Mac OS with a M4 Pro chip :D

A: Jaycen Joshua, Mike dean, Pharrell Williams and many more.
