Analog mastering with a respectful approach. I'm a specialist in music - not genres. I've worked with many different upcoming artists, helping them shape their aesthetic and vibe into a finished product - the actual master.
My name is Marcus, I'm 28 years old. I live in Denmark, where I run MACH Mastering on a daily basis. I'm the main engineer at MACH Mastering, while being the assisting engineer for acknowledged engineers in Denmark.
It's important to me to respect your mix, by preserving the original aesthetics, and shaping the actual master from that.
My setup is based on high quality analog hardware, making my process much more creative, interactive and musical. My analog machines are my instruments, and they're key to my process - not because of their sound or character, merely because of the invaluable strength in the hands-on experience.
I don't specialize in specific genres. I specialize in enhancing any musical experience, based on my skillset and many years of exploring.
You can hire me for Stereo Mastering, Stem Mastering (3-5 stems), Stem Mixing (10-20 stems), as well as extra services, including Vinyl Pre-mastering and DDP.
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Interview with MACH Mastering
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Mixing Jacob Aksglæde's live album in 2025. A difficult but fun and educational process with a great outcome!
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Mixing a live recording of a concert with a full choir, 10-piece orchestra, band and singer.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both. They both have strengths and weaknesses. The analog domain is much more than just a "sound" or "character" - the interactive aspect is at least as important. Also, no one cares which units were used to do the actual master.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I won't charge anything, if they're unhappy with the result. Also, free and unlimited revisions.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The creativity!
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Eeeeh lots of different questions. The nerds: "Which DAW/what gear do you use?". The non-technical artists: "How do I do this/that?"
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: "Why not just turn up the volume?", "You should always hit -14 LUFS", etc.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your goal for this project? How did you process it?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be confident about your music.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Gyraf G21 - it's an indispensable part of my chain. Also, my ATC monitors, interface, meter and eurorack synth!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Took a short mastering course back in 2017, then started experimenting and doing masters for free for a couple of years. Studied Sound Design for 3,5 years. Got hired as an assistant for a very skilled Mastering Engineer (still going strong!)
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Stylish.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Trentemøller. An unusually creative and productive soul! Oh, and The Durutti Column!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Nothing new - but still very relevant, apparently: Remember to level match!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie, soft pop, rock
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My mindset. To me, mastering is 20% processing, 80% mindset.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: A lot of respect. The artits knows the song, the mix and the actual direction of the song, and it's not my role to ruin that.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Listening - Correcting - Analog Processing - Final Adjustments
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Analog compressors and EQs, mainly from danish Gyraf Audio. Mainly Fabfilter-plugins and Kirchhoff EQ.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Emil Thomsen/ET Mastering
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Stereo and Stem Mastering
