Endorse Nicholas De Palo (DENNICK)Interview with Nicholas De Palo (DENNICK)
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I would say my past release of 2021 "Work From Home" Cover. Very proud of the way it turned out about producers and singer involed. It was both challenging and fun to complete and recreate a slap house vibes for a famous song like "Work From Home". I drafted four different project ideas at the beginnning, and it was insane cause all ideas were sick! In the end, I produced, arranged as well as mix/mastered the entire song getting the best.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Right now I'm working on my own personal brand "DENNICK" cocnerning EDM world + other 2 guys for the Italian Market.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I would prefer skip this one .
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: It depends on the mood, track, artist.

Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The most common question I get asked is, "can you make it sound like [Dubvision, Martin Garrix, Lost Frequencies, Hardwell]?" I mean, they re completely different genre man! My answer is always to focus on one style with maybe an accent of one or two others. Most of the time customers want all different kinds of influences but in reality, they just want one or two.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Nothing is taken for granted, if you want to achieve something, a goal, a result, work hard at any cost. Remind that nothing rains from the sky
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always ask for what vibe they wanna create in the project, what "color" they they ideally envision for their production. I also ask if there is any specific style or reference/goal.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Find someone who get your project idea and your vision and able to help. Now always more money request means best result!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: FL Studio, Nexus 3, Waves Bundle Plugin, Oxford Plugin, and my laptop of course.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started playing music at 11 yo at school and since there I started nurture my passion for festivals, club, lights and big djs, like Avicii, Tiesto, etc .. So I decided to download FL Studio and from there all changed. I started learning every day on Youtube Tutorials, videos, reading books about music theory, artists, scene and the passion and knowledge pushed me to been formed like I am now.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: You know, it depends on the mood and on the music industry directions and vision in which it is going at that precise moment.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Martin Garrix and Tiesto: I guess working with them could be full inspirational and motivational, I mean, sitting in studio with them, share tips on music, creating and dancing melodies together. Crazy!

A: Dont' look always at the meter or span or EQ, use and train your ears before look at them.

A: What the client want to vision in it. I really work for my clients: I guess the vision and explanation about the project really matter to satisfied what client want to give to the audience with the music.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: TOMATO TECHNQUE: - I usually work (or do the activity set before) for 1 hour, after that I take a rest of 15 minut for relaxing my ears and next gonna keep on working for another 1 hour and the process is repeated. Reference, Listen, Produce, Drop Part, Break, Build up, Start with the Mix, Mastering. But yeah, I'm not a robot, and to be honest it depends, there is no always a typical work progress for me. It depends on the tune/vibes/artists involved/background and ambience etc.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of a few studios in Milan, so the setup is usually changing. Usually I'll bring some of my favorite gear to supplement whatever the studio I'm working out of has. A: My big inspiration is Avicii, Martin Garrix, David Guetta and Tiesto.
