With over 13 years of experience in live music settings & 7 years of studio singing, top lining, & songwriting, I'm sure to add even more magic to whatever you're working on! I write & record for music production companies Brand X Music, Position Music, & Industry Music, as well as various independent artists. I can't wait to meet you!
I discovered my love of music at a young age, growing up in a very music-focused household & faith community. I find great ease & joy whenever I'm recording in the studio, whether it's a lead pop melody, a more mellow folk feel, or brainstorming a creative harmony to add depth & dimension. I'm comfortable in most genres but if you think I'd be a great fit for something a little outside my wheelhouse, I'm eager to learn something new for you!
SERVICES:
- lead vocals
- harmonies (including writing), stacks
- top line melody writing
- lyrics, songwriting
PROCESS:
- Tell me about your project... what's the story/where do you want to take it? Knowing this will help me connect with & bring my best to your tune!
- Let's talk about how I can help... just looking for some vocals on a pre-written track? Need help with a top line melody? How about a co-writer?! I can do it all. If you're unsure at this point, no worries - we can get creative & figure it out together.
- Once we've settled on a game plan, I'll get to work... I have an in-home studio but turnaround will vary. I'm a quick learner & generally have a solid take pretty early but I firmly believe that you cannot rush the creative process. Let's figure out what you & your track need!
DEAL:
- Unless a simple work-for-hire agreement, I'll retain my publishing & writers on all co-writes (percentages may vary).
Send me an email through 'Contact' button above and I'll get back to you asap.

Interview with Abbey Price
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't rush. Of course, a job needs to be done and done well, but that's just it - in order for it to be done well, it should be treated kindly and gently.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop and folk, indie!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Other than my vocal abilities, I'd say listening and communication. I really want to hear the heart behind whatever I'm working on for someone and I want to put as much of myself and my heart into it as well. I've also got great time-management and multi-tasking skills which come in hand when we're working on a tight timeline!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Hm...I think I bring a nice softness and depth of emotion to whatever I'm working on. Even if it's a super energetic, pump up track, I've been told that there's a certain calmness and ease to my voice. I also think I bring a lot of fun!!! ;)
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on the work to be done! I'll often sit with the track and/or demo vocals for a while to get to know them. I'll play it over and over to myself, start to envision and map out what I'll bring to it, and after a bit of that, I'll head to the mic! I'll warm up my vocals with some hot tea and honey, I'll have water on hand, and I'll run through a few simple vocal exercises. I usually need 3-4 starting takes of a verse or chorus to feel comfortable with my phrasing, feel, and to get all of the little imperfections out, but after that, I'll usually knock out a lead vocal in about an hour - sometimes faster/sometimes slower; again, it all varies! Then, once I get a solid lead take, I'll work on doubles/stacking, which come super easily/always turn out clean and clear. After that, I'll give it a harmony or two, move onto any ad-libs that feel right (even just to provide options for the producer), and end with layering (oohs, ahs, and all the good stuff in between)!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My husband and I have a small in-home studio. We've got a trusty Avantone CV-12 to record everything from lead power vox to live piano to dynamic harmonies. We've got a Universal Audio Apollo Twin, Focusrite ISA One Preamp and a Mac Mini. Additionally, we also have an upright Steinway, Rhodes, Matrixbrute, Fender Telecaster, Baritone Saxophone & Bass Clarinet, all played by my husband, Eric Price, who you can also find here on SoundBetter!
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: While I'm most often drawn to pop & indie artists, I find inspiration from many different artists in a wide array of genres. Lately - Charli XCX, Holly Humberstone, MUNA, Sylvan Esso, Madison Cunningham, and Billie Marten.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most often, I provide the recording of lead vocals, harmonies, and stacks. I spend 1-2 days a week co-writing & recording in studios.
