Interview with Studio D'aldeia
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My spotify playlist, with my client's songs. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1hMQQ6fJi0R4wE7Sl3A8MP?si=NSnpFJcWT7-OW1RRiscqNA
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. For a long time analog was superior in a few aspects. But, if the only thing that matters is the final result, digital can get there much faster with no compromise in quality at all.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: knife, torch, rope, radio and a lighter
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Started to record my own band songs, them I left the band just to record other musicians about 1 year and a half ago.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I make my mixes sound as natural as possible, considering the music style. Always looking for a rich balanced mix.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: With the band Polyplia. They are extremely creative and inovative. You can call their songs many names, but never repetitive.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Even if you work strictly with one music style, your work will be much richer if you hear different rhythms and influences.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Rock/Rap/hiphop/MPB
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I've always been a music enthusiast, being highly eclectic and with good taste for lots os different rhytms and influences. This gives me a very good sense of what isounds good and whats does not.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: The most important things I always work on a song are good sound and joy.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It's divided in steps, but I try to find "the" sound even before clicking the rec button. This makes everything easier afterards.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is based on good equipment, like the Lewitt LCT640ts microphone and the Clarett+ 4 Pre interface. But, more important that hardware is always being updated and keep studying the "how to". The Knowledge is a very important piece of gear also.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I like
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: As a "all-in-one" studio, I mostly record, mix, master and distribute songs at digital audio platfforms for my clients.
