Interview with Janel Antoneshia
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mostly sing their songs for them. Write a verse or two IF required.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: All my own work - I would be lying if I gave any other answer. I hear the growth in each song and it makes me proud to know I am getting better and evolving not only as a vocalist, but a well rounded songwriter/producer(ish) Writer, composer, music wise. Visually, director of my own music videos.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: BECOMING A LIVING LEGEND.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will get your work done.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: As someone that literally treats her own music like her children - I vow to always treat other peoples music and project with the same level of care. Out of respect for them and I guess, mutual appreciation for the art itself, too.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Honestly, my voice. The styles I've managed to 'dominate' over the years, because of busking ...has made me a better singer and performer. Followed by my songwriting abilities (a skill, I at times question but truly am impressed with when my songs are completed)!
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: All of me(or less depending on you) I'm not a fan of cheesy or very basic music. I will be honest in areas if I am not feeling the song or direction. The standard of the music should never be dropped, regardless of genre. As an artist myself, I believe in excellence.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Good music or sounds inspire me from the jump. I hear it and BOOM. We're on the way to creating(open for critics to say otherwise), greatness!
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have my trusted MAC, Logic Pro X, Aston Origin condenser mic, my cute and sturdy desk. Two great ears and speakers. Oh, and my voice - the real superstar of the group.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I love me a baddie bass player. Generally speaking - I do appreciate all forms of musicians, however when I see a person play with passion, clarity, raw skill and or talent - that is really what makes all the difference when it comes to being inspired by them. Any person that is currently becoming the best daily. Sound engineers and producers for example = I can watch them work allllllll day and never get bored.
