Murray has been recording/producing and mixing for 24 years.
He has worked at Sony studios in Sydney for 3 years as an in house engineer and during this time worked with artists such as Pink, The Script, Boys 2 Men, Delta Goodrem, Kelly Clarkson even former prime minister John Howard.

Since then Murray has built his own studio wanting to record, produce and mix with no boundaries. He has recorded and mixed albums for many artists including The Superjesus, Short Stack, Imogen Clark, Frenchy, Jason Owen, GOSH, Pacific Avenue, Sam Moran (former wiggle), winning an Aria Award for Best Children's Album.

​Aside from recording, Murray is an accomplished drummer having played for 24 years . He has played with The Vines, Zak Starkey (The Who), Jason Owen and played on hundreds of recordings for various artists. He is the current drummer in The Superjesus

  1. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  2. A: They both play an equal role in my setup and try to use the best parts of each domain

  3. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  4. A: Green day because they've got amazing energy and great songs

  6. A: Making live drums sound great

  8. A: I am a pro tools user and have been for 19 years and own a Neve V1 console from 1985 which i use to get my sound

  10. A: I am a big fan of Bruce Swedien, Bob Clearmountain and the Lord-Alge brothers. I also draw inspiration from Mutt Lange

  14. A: I love getting a new song and making it sound the best it can sound

  22. A: Like most i started at home recording myself and friends and then got a job as an in house engineer at Sony Studios in Sydney for a number of years before going freelance and building my own studio. I have now been recording and mixing for 24 years

  24. A: Forget about the gear and concentrate on the final outcome

  25. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  26. A: Usually recordings involving real or live instruments

  27. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  28. A: I feel i can bring the life out of a recording and make it feel real and connect to people

  29. Q: What's your typical work process?

  30. A: Getting a session or audio files and arranging them in the way i like Then bring in all my effects/ master bus, turn up faders and start mixing!
