Interview with Bandz Engineering

  1. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  2. A: The music I usually work with is Hip Hop and Afro Beats, I tend to work on other genres such as Pop, House, and I'm open to working with other genres of tracks, I have a wide variety of music that I listen to on a daily I'm an audiophile.

  3. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  4. A: I bring the sonic balance to the song. When creating we tend to bring a whole bunch of ideas together to get the end product. I'll take the time blending each part of project so it all works together as one finished song.

  5. Q: What's your typical work process?

  6. A: My typical work process is first understanding the song and getting the idea of the overall goals attached and using it to move the record forward. I find out what's exactly needed and move on step by step to improve the record.

  7. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  8. A: My studio setup is Yamaha HS7's with a Focusrite Interface, I use Dt990's headphones with this setup for another reference. I use 3rd party plugins from plugin alliance, Fabfilter, waves, and Melodyne.

  9. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  10. A: I look up to other engineers such as Mixedbyali, Alex Tumay, Young Guru, and Chris lord alge. I'm inspired by Murda Beatz, Hans Zimmerman, Timbaland, and many other different genres of music.

  11. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  12. A: The most common work I tend to do for my clients is mixing work. I spend the time to make sure every element of the song works together with each other. I can spend time getting the vocals or timing and tuning of a drum feeling right for the song. I tend to do what is needed for the situation.
