Tight and punchy? Got it. Loud and raucous? Got it. Vintage grit? Got it... Whatever your vision is, I guarantee I can make it happen.
Hello! I am a drummer/producer/engineer based in the heart of North Carolina who has been playing the drums professionally since 2013. As a graduate of a jazz studies program, I have learned many different styles of music and have a very musical ear, both rhythmically and harmonically. After transitioning into the pop/funk world, I have been on a mission to make any music I play/record FEEL as good as it possibly can through the lens of a player as well as an engineer.
I currently operate out of a 3 room studio that has a control room, large live room, and a smaller dead iso room, so we can tailor the sounds to whatever type of music you are creating.
Here is a Spotify playlist of the work I have played on: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1pQ6VCrwjOE5WuLHP2N7k7?si=7072dfabc8d24a17

Interview with Zac Covington
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Reference songs, reference songs, reference songs!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I am usually called to work on indie pop music, but in my own time and for personal projects work on a lot of funk
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I typically listen to a song a few times and form a drum part around what the song is telling me to do. If an artist has an idea for what they want, I will take their idea and execute that to the best of my ability!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mostly do remote drum recordings for artists but I also play in a few bands (Reliably Bad, The Fundamentals, William Hinson) and get to do in person sessions for them as well. I also engineer live band session in my area.
