Interview with Anehka
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I was always fascinated with Musical Theatre, so I actually started a training to be a musical theatre performer. I realized though, that I craved to write my own songs and saw singing as my main passion. So I packed my suitcase and studied vocals in London, because it's such an electric and inspiring place, I felt compelled to live there and be surrounded by so much music and culture. I accidentally moved back to Hamburg when the pandemic started in 2020. So I started working at an audio production company (as a PA though) but my colleagues recorded me for various commercials, since I have a degree in Vocals..might as well! I learned to learn songs quickly, to understand briefings for a song and to perform at my best, to meet clients needs. I learned a lot and can't imagine a life without singing.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Maggie Rogers, because I love her writing style, her aesthetics and phrasing! I'd love to go on an adventure with her, or a night out somewhere, just because she has an awesome vibe.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Indie, Folk, Pop, RnB
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: The versatility of my voice. I know how to use different effects, how to switch between belting, mixing, falsetto etc. I think it's because I'm a very intuitive person, so I know how to approach a song and which effects to use.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I guess a typical answer is to say emotions or feelings, which I can definitely bring! But I think it's important to bring an open mind to the song, to understand and feel the song and to fully be present with it.
