Gentle and Creative Mixing/Mastering. I believe the main goal of Mixing/Mastering should be to amplify the creative vision of you (the artist) to the fullest extent possible. Creating a High Quality Mix/Master while Keeping the original feel and direction of the track is very important to me. Depth, Dynamics and Texture is where i shine.
when i first started making music, Like many people i was overwhelmed at first, i didn't know what information i needed to seek. I had the idea that every artist was in charge of producing and mixing their own tracks. so i started learning both sides simultaneously. Eventually i figured out that i was, in fact, wrong and that a lot of artists hire or work with engineers to finish their track. At that point though i was equally in love with the creative and technical side of things and continued learning both.
This was 6 Years ago.
I've been polishing my skills everyday since, Mostly self taught (Youtube university hehe) with a few college courses here and there.
I had a pro mentor that makes a living through engineering and publishing deals.
Through my mentor i was able to land live gigs, i worked in a church for about a year mixing a live choir.
He also would lend me his professional studio to practice with local talent.
As of now i don't have credits or placements outside of my personal relationships. I've been holding off on offering my engineering services as a source of income because i wanted to wait until i was at a level where i understood every move i was making. Im at a point now where i feel confident in delivering pro level mixes/masters and building a client base of artists who are also confident in their sound and know what they want.

Interview with Kelvin Flores
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: This year i mixed and mastered a project for a good friend of mine that has been there for me since the beginning. We went to the same high school and would always talk about our goals and dreams, how we wanted to make art and music our careers. A: Trying to build strong relationships with artists that inspire me to keep pushing myself.

A: My full attention towards your vision and satisfaction.

A: I like to push boundaries. I want to be a part of the new generation of forward thinking engineers that not only practice what they learn but figure out new things on their own and expand on previous knowledge.

A: I would like to Work with Bon Iver. Their choices of textures and sounds in my opinion is so next level.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: electronic influence, but also anything thats bass driven, Party/Dance vibes. Songs you can cry and dance to.

A: working with heavy drums/bass
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: texture, loudness, clean bass, Good Dynamics you can feel.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Talking and figuring out the vibe and goals of the track. Then it's a rough mix to send you to make sure i'm heading in the right direction. Once i know i'm in the ballpark i'll go ahead and work the track for a few days then send for revisions.
