Interview with Shawn Soundz
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I listen to a mix raw a couple times to get a feel for the song. After that I gain stage and set up the routing. Next I separate the lead vocals from backgrounds and adlibs. Once those are mixed, I focus on the beat and making space for the artist.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My setup is digital and plug-in based. I use emulators of classic compressors and EQs to dial in a clear but warm response.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I focus most of my efforts on mixing and mastering music for my clients. Listening to what they give me and imagining how to take to the next level.
