Annie Bacon
Female vocals, harmony composition and singing including both traditional and complex harmonies, I also can play a few different instruments: rhythm guitar, ukulele, electric bass, some upright bass, some piano, assorted percussion. I compose music too: folk, pop, and rock songs.
I am a musician based in San Francisco. My super power is harmony composition and singing - both complex, even dissonant harmonies, and traditional 1-3-5-(7) folk harmonies. I also sing lead, and my voice has been compared to Stevie Nicks, Feist and Neko Case. Instrumentally I can play rhythm guitar, ukulele, and electric bass, with some skill on the acoustic/upright bass and the piano. Additionally I compose music. My original music tends towards folk rock, but I also write pop songs and long-form pieces, such as a Folk Opera (www.thefolkopera.com). My style is strongly melodic with rich harmonies and deceptively simple-sounding changes and rhythmic patterns. My influences range from classic rock to classical arias, with almost everything in between. I find music everywhere.
