Improve the quality of your music with my mixing and mastering services. Whether you are a musician, singer, or band, you can have your next single/album mixed, mastered, and ready for streaming. I am a graduate of SAE South Africa and currently have 5 years of experience working on several albums and different projects.
My name is Johnny African and I am a sound engineer from Cape Town, South Africa. My journey started about 8 years ago when I produced and release my first ever single. Everything seemed good with the release, but my main problem was that it didn't sound that great compared to other music released by famous artists who had access to world-class sound engineers and producers. Those professionals seemed to be able to make the music that they worked on much louder and clearer than I could do with my own music at the time. Since then, I've been working on getting my mixes up to standard with the rest of the world's best music. I studied sound engineering at SAE South Africa. After graduation, I started creating cover music for myself and other artists. Eventually, I started producing my own original music including my first album. I've done mixing and mastering for many different types of projects and genres since I first started, but I specialize in alternative pop music. If you want to improve the quality of your music and make it louder and clearer, I will be happy to help you on your journey. My main goal will be to make sure you are happy with the way your track sounds and also to make sure that your track plays well on different streaming platforms and devices.

Interview with Johnny African
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I will usually spend some time listening to the raw material and listening to any reference tracks given. I will also make sure I know what the client wants. I will then start mixing and mastering the audio and spend some time listening to make sure it sounds good on different devices.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I currently have a home setup where I produce all my music. I have a pair of Presonus speakers and headphones. I do all my work using Cubase and the interface I use is from Steinberg.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: As a musician, I am inspired by artists like Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, and Ryan Tedder from the pop-rock band OneRepublic. As a Sound Engineer, I love the work Joe Gilder and Warrant Haurt do. Tricky Stewart is also a favorite.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mainly mix and master music but also edit the timing and vocal pitch.
