A: I'm proud of my work on Chad Nolan's album 'Wildcard', where I contributed to production, vocal recording, vocal editing, mixing, and mastering. Working across an album requires consistency while allowing each song to retain its own character. It was a rewarding opportunity to help bring Chad's creative vision to life across a complete body of work.

A: I bring technical expertise and musical understanding to enhance a song's clarity, impact, and emotional depth while preserving the artist's vision.

A: My promise is to treat every song with care, attention to detail, and respect for the artist's vision. I aim to deliver a professional result that brings out the best in the music, while maintaining clear communication throughout the process and working toward a final product the artist can feel proud to release.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: One common misconception is that mixing and mastering are simply about making a song louder. They're about much more than that. Mixing involves balancing and shaping the individual elements of a song so they work together, while mastering focuses on refining the final mix for consistency, translation, and release. Both play an important role in helping the music communicate its full impact.

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: Look for someone who understands your musical vision and knows how to bring out the best in your song, rather than simply applying a one-size-fits-all approach. Listen to their previous work, communicate your goals clearly, and choose someone who respects your creative direction while bringing the technical expertise needed to take your music to the next level.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I've been involved in music and audio production for over a decade, with a background in audio engineering from SAE South Africa. Over the years, I've developed my skills in music production, mixing, and mastering, with a particular focus on helping artists achieve a polished, professional sound while preserving their unique artistic vision.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: I work across a range of genres, including Afro House, Afro Fusion, Afro Pop, dark alternative R&B, and Indie Pop, adapting my approach to suit each artist’s unique sound and vision.

A: My strongest skill is mixing and mastering, bringing clarity, balance, and depth to a track while preserving its unique character and emotional impact.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: My process begins with carefully listening to the artist's raw tracks and any references, understanding their creative vision before mixing and mastering. I aim for balance, clarity, depth, and impact, while preserving the character and emotion of the music. Finally, I run thorough quality checks to make sure the track translates well across listening environments and streaming platforms.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I work from my own studio, where I produce, mix, and master music for myself and my clients. My setup includes PreSonus studio monitors and high-quality headphones for accurate referencing. I use Cubase as my primary DAW, paired with a Steinberg audio interface to ensure professional-grade sound quality throughout my workflow.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: As a musician and producer, I'm inspired by artists like Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars, The Weeknd, and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic for their exceptional songwriting, production, and distinctive sounds. As a sound engineer, I admire Joe Gilder and Warren Huart for their expertise in mixing and production. Tricky Stewart is also a major influence for his ability to craft chart-topping hits with a distinctive signature sound.

A: The most common work I do for clients is mixing and mastering their music to achieve a polished, professional sound. This includes balancing levels, enhancing clarity, and making sure each track is ready for streaming. Where needed, I also provide timing corrections and vocal pitch adjustments to refine performances.
