35 years working in dance music genre writing, arranging and producing. Around 840 songs written mainly for Japanese market and also in some European and American countries. From 2013 to 2015 I had a little American pop music oriented parenthesis and in 2016 I went back to my original genre to write and deal with the music for my fans again.
What do I do? Oh well, this is a real good question. If someone asked me this randomly in the street chatting or during an interview I could answer… “mmmh everything and nothing”.
I started to make music very young… 9 and at 16 I already wrote my first songs… and at the end of 16 my career began in a professional studio as a studio assistant… but please, don’t ask me about coffee… I never brought coffee to the artists who came to record at studio :). I was a boy who tended to learn pretty fast, so the studio owners put me to handle technical stuff very soon and then to record the song arrangements onto the tapes or (DAT)… oh yes, folk… despite I don’t even have a single white hair I’m pretty aged and full of experience ah ah… it was 1986 and everything around me at studio was incredibly fascinating!
I dealt with many genres over the years but one I worked on most is electronic and dance music, writing an almost complete catalogue of about 840/850 tracks in 30 years.
And always over the years, I became aware that I also really loved mixing and mastering a lot, so now whenever I find myself to craft sounds or give the final touch to a song for clients, I’m very happy because I can give my fingerprints to a track that will have my mark forever… and this is great!
So to the question: “what do you do?” I respond “everything or nothing”. The answer to my client!

Nick Festari is brand of quality and professionalism.
I have known him for 36 years and over time he has formed his skill and experience not only in the eurobeat genre but in many other musical genres.
A guarantee of modesty and professionalism.
Lavoro come cantante Eurobeat da moltissimo tempo.
Nick is remarkably talented and professional. He knows his craft well and delivers exceptional results. I highly recommend working with him.
Nick is by far one of the most iconic voices and producers in Eurobeat. I’ve had the honor of working with Nick in the past and have seen his talent and breadth of work across 20 years come together into top-notch music that’s from his unique point of view and uniquely his own. His work is created with purpose and professionalism not often seen in the music industry and communications are always clear and easy. I look forward to working with him more in the future and hope you all will consider it too!
I've had the chance to know Nick personally. Not only does he have a solid knowledge of music production, but he's also extremely kind and open-minded and has the ability to see potential in every artist. I highly recommend working with Nick because he'll bring any music idea to life and give you meaningful tips for your future projects.
Nick Festari has been in the business for many years and his contributions to the eurobeat genre is well known among fans around the world. But that's not to say Festari is limited to only one genre, far from it. His range as a songwriter and producer is impressive, he has amazing mastering skills, is great at communicating, and is very friendly! He will get the work done when you need him.
Nick usually delivers exactly what I want quickly and professionally with great communication. He spent his whole life in music and his acquired skills allow him to understand the people who need his services easily.
I highly recommend this guy.

Nick Festari is a musician well known in the Eurobeat Japanese scenes, but he perfectly understands the requests of his clients even if the genre is not what he uses to deal with thanks to his professionalism.
This is the definition of professional work. I was quite sceptical while contacting Nick but he proved himself to be capable and very skilled. His mastering skills are something else
Interview with Nick Festari
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually electronic music.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: This is not an easy question. Over the years I practically did everything… and honestly I don’t know what skill is better or worse. Maybe, I can say that my passion for mixing and mastering grew in me time after time… probably mixing and mastering? I don’t know.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I hope to bring to it something emotional. I love crafting the sound in order to give something special to the audience.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I often write the melody and chords first, then I try to find a title that fit perfectly the chorus. Then I write the lyrics creating a story (a topic) around the title. Once the song is done I decide who could sing it. Sometimes me, sometimes I hire vocalist. When I have the track sung I start the arrangement… and when all the parts and sounds work very well together I start to mix and then naturally I go with the mastering process.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: DAW: Apple Logic X Pro I mainly work ITB so I own many virtual instruments: - refx Nexus 3 - Native Instruments Komplete 12 - Native Instruments Maschine - Lethal - UVI Workstation - Korg Gadget 2 - u-he synths Hardware instruments: - Roland D-05 (Roland D50 clone) - Korg Monologue - Korg Volca Keys - IK Multimedia UNO Synth Plug-ins: - Fabfilter suite - iZotope Studio Production - Waves suite
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I work in the music industry since 1986 and I mainly dealt with electronic music so, initially I was inspired by Stock-Aitken-Waterman and by the dance music of those years. Over the years, anyway, even if my main genre is always electronic, I dealt with many other styles taking inspiration by Robbie Williams, Adele, Green Days, One Direction, etc.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mix and master songs. I write and complete melodies from scratches, I write melodies for lyrics written by client or I write lyrics for melodies clients send me. I can arrange songs and eventually also produce them if clients provide me vocals.
