Hi, I am Ąžuolas Dvarionas, doKaan. I have been involved in music from an early age and always had a passion for everything sound related. I specialize in developing full, market ready tracks for artists. Can advise on pre/post music release strategies. In addition, recently started designing sound tracks for films and commercials.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I made a beat for a collaboration invite to a music festival. It was for the artists that I grew up listening to. It really felt like the career is going full circle.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Making beats for artists back in Lithuania. Despotin Fam, Karpiz, Erke, Micro One.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Not everyone has the space or money for analogue gear, I like that it is much more accessible to everyone.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will deliver the result you came to me for.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Music is magical. It evokes emotion and it is very rewarding to create something that is pleasing. I am glad I have a chance to play my role in it. So I like the creative side, for sure, but i enjoy the business side of it as well. Managing to earn money from music is also a blessing.

A: Probably how much time music producers spend searching for the right sound, preset or balance.

Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Producing: • Determining the needs and direction of the song with the client • Making a beat • Mixing the stems with ready vocals • Mastering the final version • Preparing with the artist the before/after release strategies Making beats: • Establish the artists needs or my own idea (sometimes let loose without a purpose) • Start with some melodic motive (sometimes drums or bass) • Develop the hook section of the song • Quick mix • Create the verse section • Introduce transitions and spicy elements • Arrangement • Final mix/master/ • Quality check and export Mixing: • Establish the key element and balance the levels in mono • EQ the unwanted or harsh frequencies • Expand the stereo image • Minimal effects on the whole track to have consistency Mastering: • Analyze the songs frequency spectrum, stereo image, levels and feel • Minimal cleanup • Balance the frequency response • Apply effects to reach consistency with the industry standard Film music: • Determining the mood, feel, instruments and timing with the client • Putting down some main ideas for particular scenes • Expanding on them with full scale instrumentation and stereo image • Arranging coherent transitions and sync with the film script • Final levels and sound effects adjustment Sound design: • Determining the mood, feel, instruments and timing with the client • Creating a rough arrangement of the events that follow in the video material • Outsourcing or recording the appropriate sound effects • Creating melodic elements if needed • Syncing with the video material • Final adjustments
