Tommy Kim is an up and coming Korean American singer-songwriter from Ann Arbor, Michigan. Currently finishing his Masters in Songwriting Degree at NYU, he splits his time between New York City and Seoul where he made his debut in 2021 and garnered the attention and mentorship of veteran Korean artists Cho Kyu Chan and Hey. With his broad musical range and understanding of both Western and Eastern styles, Tommy creates addictive melodies and infectious tunes that carry the character of indie pop, K-pop, lo-fi and R&B. As the industry continues to globalize and music continues to dissolve cultural borders, Tommy hopes to be a trailblazer as an Asian American artist.

Interview with Tommy Kim
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My ability to come up with simple but catchy and compelling melodies while telling intimate yet relatable stories through lyrics.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work off of a 16 inch M1 Pro Macbook Pro, an Apollo Twin X, Presonus Eris Speakers, and an Audio Technica AT4040 microphone. I have a couple guitars such as a Taylor 214ce QM DLX as well as a Telecaster. My midi gear consists of an Arturia Minilab as well as a Yamaha P115.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My sound is inspired by artists such as Lauv, LANY, Keshi and John K. Ed Sheeran, Shawn Mendes, Bruno Major, Charlie Puth and John Mayer are also artists that influence me.
