**New Client Promotion: 1st Mix $125 w/ free mastering** I believe this world would be doomed without music, let's save the world together! Whether your a singer with a guitar or a full band I'd love to get a chance to work for you.
Greetings! My name is Christian and I have had a passion for music since my first cassette back in '97. I've spent my live as a guitar hobbyist and this love for music eventually brought me to college. I graduated with my Associate's Degree with honors from MWCC and haven't looked back. I am amazed by what can be done in the post-production world and I have a great appreciation of the artform. There's no better feeling than getting to work with an artist and fine tune their vision and bring it to fruition.
Let's make some magic!
I offer both mixing and mastering services.
Mix jobs are $200.
Masters are $50.
Each comes with 2 free revisions. Manual pitch correction is extra if desired ($35-50)
(Questions are free! Feel free to reach out!)
I have a lot of experience recording various acoustic instruments but I am far more comfortable in the mixing chair. Listen to my demo on the right and see for yourself!
The Elephant in the Room: "7-14 day turnaround time"
I currently work a fulltime job and for me it's just my way of paying the bills for now. Getting to work with music is a dream I think is worth fighting for. So I want to make sure that when you hire me that I can give your song the attention to detail that it deserves. If you're looking for a 24hr rush I'm not your guy. Your music deserves better.
I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.
Interview with Christian Maldonado
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: When I'm not working on any client's work I find time to dedicate to working on my owm music and further honing my skills as an engineer.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital for now but we all know Analog has a flavor that can't easily be simulated. I miss the Audient ASP8024-HE from college. You could run any mix through it such a great summing amp!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I believe in making small moves fast. I like to take each track and begin shaving it into place little by little. I focus on placement and dynamics first then spend the majority of my time coloring and enhancing sections to improve the feel and groove of a song.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Honestly as cheesy as it sounds it's probably you. Mixing is it's own art. So for me, to work with more people just means I too get to grow as an artist.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Stay in solo for as little as possible. It's very important that whatever you do to alter a particular sound makes sense in the context of the song. This is a great way to avoid tunnel vision on a project.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I've done some Rock and Blues but for me if it's got a pulse I can add some life to it.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I do great dynamic work as well as restorative/de-noising when needed.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I do well bringing clarity to instruments and creating a full space for them to vibe in.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I believe in bottom up processing, and for me that means that he foundation of a song get worked on first. For me that always means starting with drums and bass before placing all the other instruments into the spectrum one by one. Last but not least is adding the vocals in and making sure everyone's got enough room to breathe.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I am running Protools and working with industry standard plugins in an "in-the-box" manner. I have experience in hybrid mixing and hope to expand my setup in the future.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: As a bedroom guitarist the band Periphery really inspires me. It's really cool to see how technology has allowed us to record in various locations and how this has lead to a great improvement in our ability to collaborate regardless of our location. I look forward to working with you!
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I typically work on taking rough recordings or demos and turning them in to fuller more fleshed out mix.
