Hey I'm Fay Blackmore, Known as BELLAVOLENT, founder of BossBabe Records. I have been making music my whole life, I wrote my debut album DREAM as Bellavolent in 2015. I started out by recording & comping my first debut album. From there I've learned how to be a professionally singer, songwriter, lyricist whose got melody writing down, vocal & audio engineer, vocal editor, vocal tuner, vocal mixer, vocal producer, top line, produce music via Ableton, mix & master tracks, sound design, produce events, radio & playlist promotion, get recognized in music blogs, content create & manage, remix, distribute, create seamless automated live sets, ghost write, ghost produce & more.

As a vocalist I am Alto & Mezzo Soprano from scales F3 to A5 & I can transition between my vocal registers easily.

Why I think I am someone you would want to hire is because I am an artist first, especially as a vocalist first, my vocal services are a lot more professional and passionate than say a mixing engineer who is not a vocalist. I care deeply about artists visions & I will do everything I can to bring them to fruition. I have spent many years solely focusing on cultivating & refining all the skills I listed above.

Contact for pricing as pricing will really depend on your project. Just be as clear as possible on what you are looking for & I will let you know how much it will cost.

Bellavolent, founder and owner of BossBabe Records, is a complete asset and gem to bring onto to your next project. What makes BossBabe Records so special and incomparable is that the founder is a talented and hardworking creative herself. She knows what it takes to be an artist, producer, and vocalist in today's industry. I have worked with her for several years now and always look forward to each and every session. She is passionate, driven, & has so much to bring to table. I could not recommend her enough as a vocalist, engineer, and producer. She is a STAR!!

Bellavolent is no one to sleep on. One of the most passionate creator/musicians i know. Prolific songwriter as well as dope vocal arranger. On top of that I’ve seen her put the work in with editing, and mixing when at a time she had only a minimal amount of plug-ins at her disposal and made the compositions sound like Gold. Always in a growth mindset, Her drive and inner-fire is both impressive, and inspiring. I’m blessed to witness such musical passion and progression.

I worked as producer for her debut album. She is very creative and talented! She knows how to find the best way to express herself with music. She is really amazing when it comes to lyrics especially. She’s grown a lot as an artist and music professional since her debut album with me and anyone would be lucky to work with her.

Interview with BossBabe Records

  1. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  2. A: What daw do you use? Ableton Do you have a vocal isolation booth? Yes

  3. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  4. A: Passion, perfection, but in all I let the song tell me what it wants, with the primary influence from the client.

  5. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  6. A: I am proud of most my projects. But especially the ones that I literally did EVERYTHING on.

  7. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  8. A: Quite a few songs, always. It's never-ending.

  9. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  10. A: Will Champlin is on here as well and yes, I would recommend him if you don't wanna work with me.

  11. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  12. A: I am digital. Analog breaks down really easy and it's a lot to carry around.

  13. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  14. A: I promise that I will do my best on your project as if it was treated with the same perfection I treat my own music.

  15. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  16. A: I get to do what I love and what I am extremely skilled at.

  17. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  18. A: People think that we over charge for our services but let me put it into perspective, I spent $200k and the last 7 years learning how to do everything I can now do for another artist. I don't even know if I will ever get that back. There are people with worse skills than me that charge more than I do as well. Also people misconceive how long it takes to actually get the project to be the best it possibly can be.

  19. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  20. A: What are you looking to have done? What is your budget? Do you have audio references? There are more questions but it depends on the project.

  21. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  22. A: Talk to them first, make sure it's the right decision, make sure they won't ghost you after getting your money, make sure they are willing to give you the music project off their daw as well as all audio files properly exported once the project is fulfilled or you are done working with them. This is the most valuable advice I can give you. I have had this withheld and have had money stolen, which was why I learned how to do everything myself. I would never do that to another artist.

  23. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  24. A: Laptop, a solar powered plug that could fuel my gear, a great audio interface, mic with XLR cord attached (is that cheating?), a great keyboard to make music and beats with. Would suck to only get to listen off the laptop, but you said 5... so... :(

  25. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  26. A: I started out making my debut album in 2015, really just always wanted to make an album as I had been singing and writing lyrics my whole life. I became a slave to that album and to live shows. I took a step back from being a slave to it and just allowed myself to get extremely inspired to learn more everyday so now I can make any song from the seed of an idea til its ready to distribute.

  27. Q: How would you describe your style?

  28. A: Unique, exactly what the future me cannot wait to hear.

  29. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  30. A: Mickey Valen, I just think he's an amazing music producer. But theres is tons of music artists I would love to work with.

  31. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  32. A: Honestly the main thing I have learned is to let the music speak to you, don't worry about other peoples opinions, let yourself into a musical flow and let the music tell you what it wants.

  33. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  34. A: In my personal time, I prefer Bass, Pop & Trap music with the influence of hip hop and lots of live instrumentals.

  35. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  36. A: Anything to do with vocals whether I am working with my voice or the voice of another artist. But I do really like the music I produce as well.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: 15 minute free consultation with a client, figuring out exactly what it is that they want, working toward that goal in the correct steps from start to finish. It really just depends on the project on what these steps are.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: Work off my Macbook Pro on Ableton, Bass Traps surrounding my two M-AUDIO studio monitors, Apollo Twin X as my main audio interface, Sterling Audio ST51 Class A Fet is my favorite mic to use out of my 11 microphones, I have a Vocal Booth, Akai Pro MPK249 keyboard, TC Helicon VLT2 that I usually just use for live sets unless requested otherwise, lots plug-ins, different monitors & speakers to listen on for final mixing and mastering.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: Billie Eilish, Halsey, Mickey Valen, TeZATalks, Eriel Indigo, Novaa, Alexis Hana, King Kavalier, ChrisLee, Whyt Rbbt, Bea Miller, Stephen, Louis The Child, Noé, Jake Hays, Alison Wonderland, Jackie Vae, Krewella, Melanie Martinez, What So Not, Cher Loyd, Jaymes Young, Pretty Sister, Flavia, BigX, Eko Zu, KillWill, Will Champlin, Valley of Wolves, Mothica, and more.
