With a strive for perfection, musicality and a great sounding record, I have developed my producing skills over the last few years in order to help create powerful and clean mixes. Having studied music at University, I have a strong ability to produce a song from start to finish, and will analyse your track to find the perfect solution.
My name is Joseph and I have been producing and mixing for over 5 years. My work has ranged from arranging large groups of vocals to jazz arrangements, electronic music, R&B/Soul, Acoustic, and a fusion of many different genres. I am a very adaptable musician and will be able to find exactly what your track requires to take it to the next level.
I started learning the piano from the age of 7, and picked up the saxophone at 11. I developed key musical skills of performing, timing, rhythm and harmony. At around 15/16, I was introduced to a world of experimental music, going to great depths with regards to production techniques. I quickly downloaded a DAW and started experimenting with the sounds that I had available. Fast forward to a few years back when studying music at University, I had rapidly developed my ear and production skills, and had been involved in many projects both curated by myself or others.
My creativity and attention to detail will ensure that your track is not only produced to a high standard but also has a sense of originality and authenticity in its sound as I enjoy tackling each project in its own right. Despite not having a huge quantity of years of experience I am confident in my dedication to create the perfect track.
I hope that with my resources and skills, and through dedicated collaboration, I will help elevate your music to the next level.

Interview with Joseph Milner
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will 100% promise to be committed to whatever is asked of, and collaborate effectively to ensure my work is completed to the standard that the client expects. I will fully take on board every recommendation from the client and will go above and beyond to complete the task/project to the right standard.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: During University I spent a lot of my free time experimenting with sounds, synthesizers, and a multitude of production techniques. Since recently graduating, I have had time to further this experience to the point where I have a good level of understanding when it comes to producing and mixing.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My DAW of choice is Cubase due to its versatility and organisation however, I am familiar with other programs such as Logic and Ableton. My main microphone is the Rhode NT-1 due to its versatility and sensitivity. On top of a selection of virtual instruments and samples that I use on a regular basis I have a selection of live instruments including a piano, saxophone, melodica, percussion and of course my voice which I use for backing and demo vocals.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: A lot of my inspiration has come from jazz musicians such as Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and Keith Jarrett.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Some recent work includes producing, mixing and mastering a collection of tracks to be released as a part of an album. Work includes cleaning and tuning vocals accordingly, applying creative effects to the tracks to bring them to life, and recording some additional elements to provide additional depth to each song.
