Write me in English or German and describe your musical-, or vocal challenge so that I can make you a fair offer.
I am a passionate creator of songs for record labels and vocalists from almost every musical genre. Over the past 20 years I've elaborated unique production-, mixing-, mastering- techniques which enable me to realize colorful and highly inspired songs. Musical challenges are my passion and my creativity knows no limits. I have created, produced, mixed and mastered countless singles for vocalists and international projects as well as for my own labels.
If I contribute music or lyrics to your project, you must register me as composer or lyricist (usually 50/50 royalty split - mechanical and publishing) with your Performance Rights Organization. I will register everything identically with my local PRO, the German GEMA.

John was amazing! He did an excellent job mixing and mastering one of my older tracks. I was going to get rid of my piece of work, but he brought it back to life and it sounds better than ever. I will definitely work with him again!
Amazing service! I've never heard a track sounding more clear than after John's mixing and mastering. Knocking drums and clear melody. Thanks for always being genuine and kind too, business and human aspects on point.
This guy knows exactly what he does. Got once a vocal enhancing which has been a dream. I have no clue how he made my vocals shine that much but it was totally impressive.
Met this producer in the course of a casting and although my vocal demo was rejected by him, he gave me much precious advice from which I still benefit. Larger Than Life experience, thanks again 😍
John helped Master one of my tracks, amazing sound quality, night and day difference looking foward to our next track..
Thanks
I simply love John's works ! His skills and sound is cutting edge and always loaded with hit potential.
John is a very hands on producer. He is very talented and goes above and beyond to bring out the best in the artists that he works with and get them the best sound possible.
Highly recommended
He turned my vocal recording into a jewel. My vocals sounded so big and expensive... almost unbelievable. Outstanding experience!
Amazing Producer and Hit-Songwriter with golden ears 💗
John is a real pro, extremely versatile and for me simply the best choice. I worked with him on several productions already. Highly recommended!!
Interview with John Meisel
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I am always giving my very best to feel what could make you and your audience happy and be a great match to your musical / vocal vision (be is a custom single, mastering, mixing, editing, vocal production, vocal comping, lyric writing, professional song-/mix-/vocal- feedback, orchestral- & trailer composing, audio logos, sound-design and more).
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My current favourite setup of analogue hardware and virtual plugin gear reads as follows: Avalon VT-737 SP, Neumann M147, TC 6000 MK II system, Apollo x6 and Unison preamps, Antelope Pure 2, Lexicon PCM 96, TC 2290, Weiss, Neumann monitoring, VoVox cables, high-end audio workstations ~ Plugins: Universal Audio, Softube, Cubase 12 Pro, Omnisphere 2, Keyscape, Cinesamples, VSL, Hollywood Orchestra Diamond, Project Sam, DrumCore 4, Lexicon PCM Native Effects, and tons of other VSTis & live recorded samples.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: To assume that professional music- & vocal production as well as mixing & mastering must follow strictly mental or theoretically concepts and rules.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Please share your vision for your project or audio challenge with me and specify what you are having in mind!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Trust + Patience + Self-Love + Inner Peace + Faith In God
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: After my first state examination as teacher I devoted myself for music production and vocals and have been working for already 20 years as producer and vocalist and since about 10 years I am also creating instrumental music and songs for others.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Usually everything (however, the topline is sometimes provided by artist or their topline writers).
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I follow neither strict rules nor typical routines... except from my intention to open myself for higher inspiration (yet without drugs or intoxicating substances) in order to create something special. Of course I do know the science and mental theories of audio production, mixing, mastering, etc... however, I prefer to listen to my feeling.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: A combination of both worlds makes really sense for my workflow and musical visions: Analog gear is still unrivaled for a premium vocal chain (high-end channelstrips like Avalon VT-737sp, Manley VoxBox or Summit Audio Everest, quality studio condenser microphones and premium AD/DA converters as well as excellent cables), however, hybrid gear like UAD’s Apollo x6 are nice as well, as they enable me to combine hard- & software via their Unison-preamp-technology which makes it possible to choose from several quality pre-amp emulations or use the Manley Massive Passive EQs on several channels in one production. As I produce everything in at least 48kHz - 24 Bit and because I can run almost limitless premium plugins in creative ways within one project, the possibilities have tremendously enlarged (compared with typical analog equipped recording studios of the 80s/90s/2000s).
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am always working on several productions from various genres at the same time and I love this variety... it never gets boring at all.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creative versatility & freedom to express love in myriads of musical ways.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Colorful ~ Powerful ~ Unique ~ Modern ~ Multifaceted ~ Global ~ Inspired & MADE WITH LOVE
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I love working with highly gifted yet humble and sincere artists who own a noble soul and positive character that are spreading positive vibes and love to their audience!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Concentrate also on the invisible side of music & vocals. Allow yourself to perceive or enhance the colors and energies of music & vocals and a whole new universe unfolds!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop / Hip Hop / R&B / TrapSoul / EDM / AfroBeat / Latin / Reggaeton / Dance / Vocal Trance / Orchestral Dubstep / Orchestral / Classical / J- & K- Pop / Rock / Rap / Melodic - and Epic Drill / Jazz / and more.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Flexibility combined with focus.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Unique artists and innovative sound-design ~ however, I never copy the works of others as this feels counterproductive to my way of producing. I am not the "type beat guy"... I set great store by creating innovative music for artists who want to set their own trends in a colorful and unique way. Nevertheless, if it is of importance for a client to get something "in the vein of xy"... I can realize that of course as well.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Creation of instrumental singles from literally every musical genre, Vocal- & music production, mixing & mastering, vocal comping and sweetening, lyric writing, song-/mix-/vocal- feedback, custom trailers & sound-design (orchestral & hybrid) as well as vocal coaching.
