A: They'll walk away truly satisfied with their songs and with the process — it's always fun and seamless.

Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

A: That it's a purely technical skill. It's an emotional skill that uses technology.

Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: What do you like about the rough mix? What don't you like? How close does this song feel to being finished, in your view?

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I've been mixing for the past 12 years. It's been a tough but genuinely fun journey — starting my career in Peru and later moving to Los Angeles to keep growing. A constant evolution.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Mostly pop, hip hop, R&B, alternative, and indie.

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: My ability to listen as both a consumer and a technician at the same time, switching between those two mindsets whenever the moment calls for it.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I bring fresh energy. After working on a song for months, it gets hard for artists and producers to keep the same clarity and drive to finish it. That's the stage where I step in — bringing new energy to help push the song across the finish line.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I usually start with a call with the producer or artist to understand the vision for the project. Once I get the files, I listen closely to the rough mix to identify its strengths and what needs improvement. From there, I do my best work during the mix and stop when I feel the song is expressing the emotion it should — then I send it back and wait for feedback or revisions.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: I work mostly in the box and have access to most of the top plugins on the market, but I don't put gear on a pedestal. I firmly believe those are just tools — what you use to paint isn't more important than the art itself.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: I'm really inspired by mixers like Tom Elmhirst, Shawn Everett, and Manny Marroquin, as well as producers like Tricky Stewart, Pharrell, and Finneas.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: I work primarily as a mixing and mastering engineer. My main focus is understanding an artist's vision deeply and helping bring the song to its final stage — whether that requires a subtle touch or a major transformation. I respect the artist's sound and intent, and I do my best to deliver a final version they're truly proud of.
