Interview with LOWE

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I'm really proud of an EP I made for LOWE. (Afternoon Tales) I made the instrumentals for him. Why I'm proud of it is because it was the first time I got a review on a local blog.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: At the moment I'm working on a couple of projects for LOWE.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: I haven't been long on SoundBetter, so at the moment I have no clue.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: A bit of both but at the moment mainly digital. It's less of a hassle with repairing and interface. Analog still piques my interest, though it is really expensive.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: Even with my limited experience, I'll do my absolute best to help you finish your project as you intended it to sound.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Being able to make music and help others in their projects.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Can you make a track under these vocals? I'll do my absolute best.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That a young producer wants to work alone.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: Do you have any reference tracks? What should be my role in your project?

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: You should take a provider, that makes you feel at ease. So you and the provider can make progress on your project.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: Guitar Laptop Audio Interface Guitar Cable Ableton

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: My career path is still really short. I have been doing this for five years. So I'm still quite inexperienced, though really hungry to learn as I go.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: My style at the moment is a quest between acoustic and electronic elements.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I think I would like to work with FINNEAS. Mainly for the fact that I enjoy the way he mixes electronic and acoustic elements, without one getting the upper hand on the other.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Save your sessions!

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I usually work on indie pop songs with electronic add ons.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: I think my strongest skill is my drive for experience.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I like to think I bring some decent guitar playing to a song.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: Most song I make start as a guitar loop, that I expand on with drums. After these starting steps I will add bass or keys in what feels natural for the song.

  39. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  40. A: I work in Ableton Live 11 Suite. For monitoring, I use a set of Yamaha HS7. I'm also a guitarist so I mainly use my Fender Stratocaster or my Stafford Radiotone.

  41. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  42. A: I think FINNEAS, Hans Zimmer and Stromae are the musicians that inspire me the most at the moment.

  43. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  44. A: Most of the work I do for my clients is producing.
