I specialize in mixing punchy vocals with an ethereal atmosphere. I've been producing, mixing & touring my emo/acoustic project SayWeCanFly since 2009. I have 13 years experience & 80 million streams on my original music. Let's make something great together!
Hey there! My name is Braden. I started a solo project called SayWeCanFly back in 2009 & it has been my full time job ever since. I've toured with bands like Plain White T's, Secondhand Serenade, completed the full Vans Warped Tour, & have thousands of hours of live performing under my belt. Along with that I have years of studio experience producing & mixing my original music. I have also produced & mixed the entire original score for a Christmas movie called "Cup of Cheer" along with some TV series. With all that being said, I am excited to work with you & help bring your song to life. I believe the mixing stage is one of the most important, and that it is all about the vibe & feeling. If you like my sound & want a piece of it sprinkled into your creation, feel free to reach out and let's make something special. I specialize in mixing punchy vocals with an ethereal atmosphere.
Some of my biggest inspirations for my "sound" over the years have been Secondhand Serenade. Chase Coy, NeverShoutNever, Nothing Nowhere, Ed Sheeran, Underoath, & Dashboard Confessional.
PS: Never be ashamed about wanting more reverb!

Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I am currently studying EDM production & working on a full length EDM record!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Caslow & Klaas Gerling!
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Honestly, I'm all about the digital because that's what I grew up with. However, I like to use plugins that emulate analog gear on most of my tracks.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: We will work on the track until it makes you happy.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: There is ALWAYS something else to express in the form of art. It never gets old, and you never make the same thing twice.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I'm any different from anyone else because I'm a musician.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: You have to go with your feeling sometimes. There are SO many talented mix engineers out there, there is no one size fits all. When you hire someone to mix your song, you want to hire them for their specific sound.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started in 2009 recording songs in my bedroom & posting them to the internet. I was blessed to (for some reason) build an amazing audience of people across the world that related to it & allow me to have a career doing what I love.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I always use the word "emo".
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always double track your guitars, pan one hard left & one hard right!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Acoustic, emo rap, cinematic film scoring & EDM.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my strongest point is converting the visuals / story I see in my mind into audio form. In other words, I love taking people to a "place" using my mixing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My favorite part of the creative process is mixing because that is where I can physically put my heart & soul into the song. Okay, not literally...
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It starts with coffee, includes some vibing out, and ends with a finished song.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I do everything on my Macbook Pro in Logic Pro X! I believe in keeping a minimal setup with the tools / plugins that are most useful in sculpting your unique sound.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Nothing Nowhere, Ed Sheeran, Secondhand Serenade, Illenium, Said The Sky.
